I think that the protesters view SB1070 and the possible civil rights implications in its implementation as desecration of America. However, since most are probably going to see this treatment of the flag as hatred of America and not create empathy or openness or understanding to the protesters point of view–not a smart move. Similar to when there were immigration protesters carrying the Mexican flag in their parades.
Uh, who goes to Mexico and defaces their flag?

you know I believe there is a law on Arizonas books about desecrating the flags, surprised that an officer is looking on while chewing gum… probably under orders not to do anything.
