The Real Reasons Behind Washington’s Attack on Arizona’s 1070

The border remains a military zone. We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we’re a new Mestizo nation. And they want us to discuss civil rights. Civil rights. What law made by white men to oppress all of us of color, female and male. This is our homeland. We cannot – we will not- and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. It’s a matter of time. The explosion is in our population.

Professor Angel Gutierrez, University of Texas at Arlington, founder of La Raza Unida Party; 1995

Here are a couple of little known quotes on immigration from another point of view.

“In recent years a new International System has been developing, oriented toward the establishment of norms and principles of universal jurisdiction, above national sovereignty, in the areas of what is called the New Agenda…we have to confront ….. what I dare to call the Anglo-Saxon prejudice against the establishment of supra-national organizations.”   — Mexican President Vicente Fox Club XXI, Hotel Eurobuilding, Madrid, Spain 5/16/02

“I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important – a very important – part of this.” – Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo, Chicago on July 23, 1997

“The effort to unite the economies of the Americas into a single free-trade area began at the Summit of the Americas which was held in December 1994 in Miami. The heads of state and government of the 34 democracies in the region agreed to construct the Free Trade Areas of the Americas (FTAA) in which barriers to trade and investment will be progressively eliminated. They agreed to complete negotiations towards this agreement by the year 2005 and to achieve substantial progress toward building the FTAA by 2000.” So begins the history of what President George W. Bush called “The Century of the Americas” (Summit of the Americas, 1994).

Lets now consider some of the following goals and objectives of the FTAA as taken from their website:

Share best practices and technologies with respect to increasing citizen participation in the electoral process, including voter education, the modernization and simplification of voter registration…” [remember motor-voter and the ubiquitous early vote by mail]

Support initiatives designed to strengthen linkages among migrant communities abroad and their places of origin and promote cooperative mechanisms that simplify and speed up the transfer of migrant remittances to their country of origin.  [do you get the idea that because Mexico is bankrupt and ungovernable, remittances from the U.S. are about all that's keeping that country stable?]

Support programs of cooperation in immigration procedures for cross-border labor markets and the migration of workers, both in countries of origin and destination, as a means to enhance economic growth in full cognizance of the role that cooperation in education and training can play in mitigating any adverse consequences of the movement of human capital from smaller and less developed states into … [I think you get the idea where that one goes]

Strive to ensure that migrants have access to basic social services, consistent with each country’s internal legal framework… [now you know why AHCCCS is subsidized by the Federal government to some extent]

In Mexico’s official “National Plan of Development 2001-2006″ specific strategies for expanding the nation’s political reach far beyond the U.S. / Mexico border are outlined.  Through out the lengthy document, globalization is frequently referenced, however again, the devil’s in the details.  To achieve their national plan, the government of Mexico reliles on those of its peoples migrating into the United States who, in 2002 sent back to Mexico over $14 billion dollars of hard U.S. currency.  These remittances as of 2006/07 were Mexico’s #1 source of foreign capital, replacing tourism and oil.  This of course isn’t counting drug money pouring into that country.
In 2001 the Mexican National Congress established dual citizenship for all Mexican national living abroad, legal or otherwise.   In the words of Mexican Congressman Manuel de la Cruz, an American citizen elected to the Mexican National Congress in 2002 and residing in California, “There are 23 million Mexicans in the U.S. that need a voice in Mexico.” (Washington Times, Ken Bensinger)

In a 2000 FoxNews interview, Mexican President Vicente Fox made Mexico’s intentions crystal clear:

“I’m talking about a community of North America, an integrated agreement of Canada, the United States, and Mexico in the long term, 20, 30, 40 years from now. And this means that some of the steps we can take are, for instance, to agree that in five years we will make this convergence on economic variables. That may mean in 10 years we can open up that border when we have reduced the gap in salaries and income.”

Now does it all make more sense?  Now do you have an idea why the Obama Administration is suing the State of Arizona?  Now do you know why our Southern Border is open and our Federal government has no intention of doing anything unless they achieve an Amnesty Program?

And why John McCain is needed back in the U.S. Senate?  Is it beginning to make some sense?  Its not about race and its not about human rights – its about globalism and the Free Trade Area of the Americas.

Jim Ward expected to apologize for lying to the voters of CD5 about Fox News

The kind of politician you can’t trust

Yesterday morning Jim Ward, the candidate for Congress who moved here from San Francisco last year to run for office, took the Fox News logo off his website, essentially admitting that he lied to the voters in person, in mail pieces – telling them that he had been profiled as an up-and-comer.

As Jim Ward’s campaign deflates amid lies, runaway spending, and ideological gaffs, he has shown that he is ill prepared to run for Congress if the dethroned marketing executive can’t even market his own platform for Congress.

Which, by the way, what does Jim Ward stand for outside of not being David Schweikert?  Not real border security.  Not free trade.  Not protecting taxpayers or demonstrating a fiscal conservative record.  He’s a cocktail show-hound who thought he could buy a Congressional seat by shaking hands, buying young people rounds of drinks — fooling the voters through false advertising.

Jim: We’re not buying it.  Your product is dishonest.  And we can’t trust you.

Apologize.

Signed,

The Voters of CD5

Chamber Trying to Pass Off Open Borders Crowd as Border Hawks

A Chamber of Commerce mailer for Rep. Adam Driggs has recently hit mailboxes in LD 11. The mailer tries to paint Driggs as some kind of immigration hawk. Anyone who pays attention to Arizona politics knows full well that Driggs is part of the “Sanctuary Six” (Driggs, Crandall, Mason, Barto, Quelland, Konopnicki) that walked out on a vote on HB 2280, an anti-sanctuary cities bill and the precursor to SB 1070, rather than vote on the bill. Earlier in the session, Driggs had held up anti-sanctuary legislation for the entire session by using his power as Committee Chairman to not give it a hearing. Then, when Sen. Russell Pearce got the bill around Driggs to the House floor, Driggs walked out as one of the Sanctuary Six.

A look at Driggs’ contributors shows a host of open borders McCainiacs. Most notably among these are Deb Gullet, former notoriously liberal legislator and former McCain Chief of Staff. She was the Gallagher & Kennedy lobbyist that sent an e-mail around touting Greater Phoenix Leadership’s (GPL’s) “Twelve in `10” fundraiser for liberal Republicans to help Democrats raise money and get elected. Reps. Driggs’ and Konopnicki’s names again pop up on the list of pro-corporate handout legislators favored by GPL. Sean Noble is yet another McCainiac and open-borders guy. He too has given to Driggs. Marcus Dell’Artino who works for First Strategic, the same firm employing Wes Gullet, a former McCain staffer and Deb Gullet’s husband, has also contributed to Driggs. Many First Strategic employees have been donating to ultra-liberal 20+ year incumbent Democrat Congressman Ed Pastor. Pastor is about as open-borders as anyone can get. Koponicki has contributed to Driggs. Wonder why? Couldn’t be because he wants like-minded liberals in office to help him push his pro-open borders agenda through the legislature. Shiree Verdone, another McCain staffer also contributed to Driggs. Would the McCainiacs be supporting Driggs if he wasn’t one of them? Almost to a man, the Sanctuary Six endorsed McCain, Quelland being the only name absent from the list. Almost to a man, the Chamber endorsed the Sanctuary Six, again, Quelland being the exception. The ties between McCainiacs, the open-borders crowd and the pro-“business” handouts crowd are unmistakable.

The first lesson should be that anyone receiving a mailer from the Chamber needs to be very skeptical. The voters need to dig deeper to learn the truth. The second lesson is that the Chamber knows very well that its open-borders position is not what the voters want. The Chamber routinely opposes efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and it wants to elect open-borders legislators like Adam Driggs to prevent Russell Pearce from becoming Senate President. That it tries to get them elected by posing them as “tough-on-crime, secure border leaders” is both hypocritical and dishonest.

Roundtable Politics interview with Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Archived Roundtable Politics interview with Joe Arpaio hosted by Rachel Alexander, James Allen, Nancy Huzar, and myself. The Sheriff should do more interviews like this, his humorous side really shines through and he even talks about his love of animals. The Sheriff, however, doesn’t want to be classified as a softie at heart because he wants crime rates to stay low! Laughs were had by all when he asks what “social media” is and he talks about not having a computer, but a Smith-Corona typewriter instead. Gee, I wonder who runs his Facebook page and his Twitter account if he doesn’t know what social media is? Sound quality is not the best because of a last minute change in equipment and the wrong computer settings. Still a great interview.

Special thanks to the Sheriff for doing the show in the first place! We understand that he normally only does national media and he made a special exception in our case. I hope to have the Sheriff on Grassroots Interviews after the general election.

AZ Latino Republicans holding press conference today at 2pm on SB1070

The Arizona Latino Republican Association, which has joined the SB1070 suit on the side of Arizona, will be holding a press conference today at 2pm to comment on Judge Bolton’s ruling against Arizona. Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (P.L.E.A.) Headquarters - 1102 West Adams Street, Phoenix, AZ 85007.

Below is a statement from their attorney, Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch.

COURT DECISION ON AZ SB 1070 IMMIGRATION LAW

TYPICAL OF POLITICIZED FEDERAL JUDICIARY

Outrageous Decision of Judge Bolten Gutting the Law Not Surprising Given Her

Appointment by a Democratic Administration

The People Come Second to the Judge’s Career Prospects

(Phoenix, Arizona, July 29, 2010). Today, federal judge Susan R. Bolten issued a preliminary injunction in effect gutting Arizona’s new law designed to stop or at least curtain the massive flow of illegal immigrants into the state, and its attendant costs and risks to the citizens.

Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch issued this statement:

“After many years of legal practice, I had no difficulty predicting the result. Judge Bolten, who was appointed to the court during the Clinton administration, knows that if she is ever to be nominated to a higher post – perhaps at the Ninth Circuit – that she better not rule against her benefactor, the Democratic establishment now lead by President Barack Obama.

Regrettably in her zeal to cover her own political flanks, the people of Arizona and the nation have been treated as unimportant. This is just another example of the judiciary feathering its own nest, at the expense of the people.

Judge Bolten’s decision ruling unconstitutional the questioning under AZ SB 1070 of persons who are stopped for ‘probable cause’ – to determine if they are in Arizona legally – is not only outrageous,  it also conflicts with established law that police officers can probe into such matters once “probable cause exists.” Now, it is even unclear, given the judge’s politically motivated ruling, that they can even follow the law that existed before AZ SB 1070. Judge Bolten in her zeal to bow down to and further the pre-election strategy of President Obama and the Democrat establishment, has subverted legitimate law enforcement and endangered the citizens of Arizona.

Freedom Watch, which represents the Arizona Latino Republican Association and its CEO, Jesse Fernandez, both of whom support AZ SB 1070, will take this matter to the U.S. Supreme Court for redress. My clients intervened in this case to tell the American people that Latinos also respect the law and are proud to be part of this country, and want to play a major role in solving the illegal immigration problem. The rich Latin culture has added greatly to our nation and its values.

This country is on the verge of revolution, as we were in 1776, because the sovereign and its court system refuse to address the people’s grievances. I hope to avert this by using peaceful means to ‘overthrow’ the establishment, which is destroying our nation.”

An Open Letter from Senator Russell Pearce to Arizona Conservatives

Dear Friend,

Arizona’s schools need improvement.  We’ve increased per student spending by nearly 30% in recent years.  The result?  According to The Arizona Republic, “The Class of 2009 posted average SAT scores that are among the lowest in at least a decade.” (8/26/2009) Other measures show academic achievement in Arizona schools either flat or on the decline.

Clearly, taxpayers are not getting the value they deserve for their hard earned tax dollars, and many students aren’t getting the education they’ll need to succeed in the workplaces of tomorrow.

I believe State Senator John Huppenthal is the leader we need to bring about improvement in Arizona’s schools, and I’m urging Arizona conservatives to support his candidacy for Superintendent of Public Instruction.

I know John well.  We’ve served side by side in the Arizona legislature for many years, fighting on behalf of taxpayers and the law-abiding citizens of this state.

Improving Arizona schools is John’s life’s work.  He is a respected expert on the topic, having served 17 consecutive years on the State House and State Senate education committees.  Some of John’s legislative accomplishments to improve the quality of education include:

  • Lifting the caps on charter school enrollment, dramatically increasing school choice
  • Passage of Arizona’s Tuition Tax Credit Law, enabling thousands of students attend the school of their choice
  • Supporting English language immersion for students who can’t speak English
  • Passing legislation to stop non-resident illegal aliens from attending Arizona schools, a major problem at schools along the Mexico border and a drain on taxpayer funds
  • Providing the very best computer technology for our students in our schools for the deaf and blind
  • Establishing a model summer school for children with autism; bringing the best research to Arizona for educating these special children
  • Developing best practices in the discipline of special needs students
  • Improving assessment data and the measurement of academic gains of students and districts
  • Increasing vocational education opportunities for students
  • Developing and passing the “best home school laws in the nation,” according to Tom Lewis, President of Arizona Families for Home Education

I believe that with John Huppenthal’s leadership as Arizona’s next Superintendent of Public Instruction, Arizona schools will be well positioned for steady improvements in academic achievement.

John is strongly opposed to bi-lingual education and supports English immersion for students who can’t speak English.  He is committed to ending “social promotion” and will demand accountability and higher standards.

In addition to his conservative track record on education issues, John has proven himself to be a leader Arizonans can trust on other issues as well.

John has worked hard to stop illegal immigration, protect life and marriage, secure our Second Amendment rights and fight wasteful spending.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Len Munsil, Congressman Trent Franks and other conservative leaders across Arizona have endorsed John and are helping the campaign.

Now, John needs conservatives like YOU to help spread the word.

Please take the time to tell your friends and neighbors about John Huppenthal’s campaign for Superintendent of Public Instruction.

I’ve been in some tough campaigns myself, facing off against some of the same liberal groups that are sure to come after John.  I know from experience that word of mouth advertising is more powerful than television or piece of mail.

As conservatives, we fight to  preserve Faith, Family, Freedom and Country.  I’m grateful you’ve taken the time to read this letter.  Thank you, and may God bless you and may God continue to bless this great Republic.

Sincerely,

Russell Pearce
State Senator
