It was with deep disappointment that I read the following letter forwarded to me from my colleagues in the RTKBA community .
I hope our readers will share this with United We Stand for Americans; the good patriots in the 912 Project; and the Campaign for Liberty. Share via FB with those who have scraped their dimes and nickels together to pay Sheriff Mack’s speaking fee. You’ve been sold out.
Konopnicki simply want a “prop” or “trophy wife” to showcase to voters that he really is a “Constitutional Conservative” and is spending mega-bucks to prove it. But his actions speak louder than words so he needed “street cred” … and bought some. What follows is how someone betrays his cause, his friends, and those who have trusted him.
Sheriff Mack … there is no explanation for this betrayal to a politician who only wishes to use you to get what he wants.
From: Richard Mack
Subject: my appologies, but
Date: Tuesday, July 27, 2010Dear friends:
I have some news for you that is weighing heavy on me, but I must go with my heart andwhat I feel is best. I have decided to support Bill Konopnicki for State Senate. Please allowme to explain my decision. I have known Bill for a very long time, perhaps 35 maybe 40 years. He has been a good friend and a good friend of my parents.I know Bill to be a good husband and father. Because of this relationship I’ve been strugglingwith my decision as to who to support in this race. I know Sylvia is a good person, also.
Then yesterday Bill asked to meet with me in his office. He was most eager to hear more about my victory at the U S Supreme Court and how the ruling might benefit Arizona in its present litigation with the federal gov’t. He was very impressed and told me that he would make certain that the Governor and her counsel would receive this vital information. There is no question that my case, based on state sovereignty, will help us all in these trying times of federal intervention and control. Bill took it upon himself to get my info. to the Governor. He showed leadership and dedication; he took the initiative tohelp and to make a difference. Needless to say, I was moved and impressed. On the other hand, Sylvia has not called me or asked me to help in the least. She and I were asked to speak at an event in Globe together and she declined the invitation. Now, I think I have seen a difference and it has moved me to support Bill Konopnicki.
I am asking for your understanding and assure you that this decision has been a matter of prayer and deep contemplation. My wife and I discussed it in great detail, also. I will always fight for freedom and try with all my might to restore the Constitution as the law of this great land. I will never shrink from this quest.
Respectfully,
Sheriff Richard Mack (Ret)

Sherriff Mack is a good man, but he’s politically confused. He should stick to the book writing and talk circuit and stay out of politics that he doesn’t understand. He also doesn’t understand SB1070 and should just refrain from elaborating on it.
No idea what he’s talking about. Who’s “Sylvia?”
“Now, I think I have seen a difference and it has moved me to support Bill Konopnicki.”
WHich is? Was a sentence left out?
Posting this sort of thing is not enlightening at all.
Sounds like a case of one candidate working harder than the other, with the hard worker getting the endorsement.
I guess the “Stupid” Party didn’t earn that soubriquet for nothing!
Good grief! The award for drama king of the day goes to…Veritas Vincit!
The last post gets taken down for being borderline criminal and now this…
G-O-O-F-Y!
Ah! Ann’s just celebrating the 1070 decision!
But VV, he said this was a matter of prayer for him.
I must ask: who is the traitor? Is it God, for telling Mack to choose as he did? Or is it God for choosing Konopnicki?
Or can I assume from your tantrum that you don’t believe that Richard talks or hears back from God in his prayers?
Or do you believe that he is simply lying about a relationship with his God all together?
Or do you just not believe in a God (welcome aboard, in that case)?
It seems that you must believe one of the following:
1)Richard and God are both Rinos and traitors.
2)Richard is a Rino, a traitor, and a liar, God just an innocent bystander.
3)Richard is a rino, traitor, and liar, God nonexistent.
I would assume that VV would try to move away from these three conclusions. The problem, though, is that the good Sheriff claims this decision to be a product of his conversation with his God.
In this sense, you seem to be speaking pretty far out of turn. What do you know about his relationship with God, and why do you think his God would lead him astray?
It is but one man’s opinion. What is all the fuss about ?
Obviously none of you know anything of Richard Mack and his history. To those who do, they understand this blog.
Steve, not one candidate working harder, one candidate willing to shell out $100,000 for a lousy $24,000/yr job. After 8 years what’s he got to show for his efforts? Not much.
Ann, there’s nothing “borderline criminal” in the 1st Amendment. If you think there is, then you deserve the government your getting.
The First Amendment does not allow for defamation.
“…defamation is the issuance of a false statement about another person, which causes that person to suffer harm. Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium, such as a magazine or newspaper.
Typically, the elements of a cause of action for defamation include:
1.A false and defamatory statement concerning another;
2.The unprivileged publication of the statement to a third party (that is, somebody other than the person defamed by the statement);
3.If the defamatory matter is of public concern, fault amounting at least to negligence on the part of the publisher; and
4.Damage to the plaintiff.
In the context of defamation law, a statement is “published” when it is made to the third party. That term does not mean that the statement has to be in print.”
Konopnicki is a pro-amnesty illegal immigration supporter who is the leader of the Mushroom Coalition at the Capitol that was rolled the Republican Caucus to support the Napolitano spending sprees. To be fair, he is very good at presenting his sleaze ball politics in a way that seems acceptable – even to those who oppose his basic liberal, big government, pro-amnesty, self-serving actions.
Mack falls into a similar category as the Valley Interfaith communists who convince themselves that they are doing what God’s will. God does not support actions which flaunt his commands, and Valley Interfaith and the King of Golden Roaches both have a history of those “failings”.
Sylvia Allen is the true conservative and it seems like childish petulance for Mack to make such a large leap because Sylvia had a conflict and could not appear with the great Mack at a Globe event. How did he get to be such a self-centered, narcissistic nincompoop, or is he just getting senile and suffering from dementia?
It is irrational that he would support a person who has worked day in and day out against Prop 200, Employer Sanctions, etc. for the better part of a decade.
Ann, by definition an opinion cannot be a false statement ergo your argument is moot. But I admire your cut and paste capabilities.
Again, those familiar with the two individuals spoken of in this posting will understand the gravity of the matter.
Ah Janelle, truly you grasp the situation regarding both men.
The drama award goes to Mack for his self-gratifying apology masquerading as an explanation. Mack has long been suspected of being a self-proclaimed Messiah of the Constitution but many have suspected that was a facade for his showboating ego.
He has put all suspicions of that to rest.

………………..
With all due respect, how are new people supposed to be informed if news and opinion are not accompanied by background?
I have no clue as to what that was about. How many other readers didn’t understand it either? So instead of helpful, it was frustrating. The background doesn’t have to be volumes, just a tight summary with one or two links maybe to what is being referred to so motivated readers can go more background so they understand the context.
You put “Benedict Arnold” but the letter comes off as “sad.” As in “demoralised” so what happened? Is it even necessary to know what happened?
To Ann,
The lawsuit involving the Globe attorney attempting to become a Member of Congress is an evolving issue.
There will be more on Bradly Beauchamp behavior and character before election day.
We have heard of the Beauchamp groupies over in the White Mountains that put personality over substance and enjoy a good stage performance over candidates with character and experience.
What we have found curious about this odd group, is that this following of his, unlike the other Tea Party groups around the state who also study and celebrate the Constitution, never seem to have grasped the concept of the 1st Amendment.
Every time they hear the slightest negative comments on their rock star, like banshees they descend on the hapless offender like the wrath of god to silence or intimidate them.
The bottom line is, this group of self-proclaimed conservatives are in fact nazi-like in their behavior and worship of their chosen candidate/messiah.
We have received sporadic reports of candidates being treated with extremely rude behavior by the leaders of this band of political groupies. In fact, their reputation has extended far beyond their rather small geographic location.
In time, any candidate associated with this organization will come to realize that having their support is much like being supported by the Klan.
And in time, when their general membership wakes up to the behavior of their elected leaders, it wouldn’t surprise us if members began disassociating themselves from this toxic conservative club.
(Where did that last posting come from?)
wanumba,
Indeed a summary is in order. Janelle in posting #11 nailed it pretty well.
In short form, Konopnicki is multi-millionaire hamburger franchise owner who is a left of center RINO attempting to pose before voters as a conservative. Konopnicki is the poster boy for term-limits and is doing/saying/spending anything to move to the state senate where, his own party leadership doesn’t want him.
Richard Mack over a decade ago took the case of the county sheriff over federal enforcement of the Brady Gun Bill to the Supreme Court and won in a landmark Constitutional case. Since then, Mack has become something of a minor celebrity on the State’s Rights and Constitutionalists talk circuit and an author.
This endorsement is like Joe Arpaio endorsing Jesse Jackson.

A little early in the day to be hysterically invoking the Democratic Party terrorist wing, the Klan, which actually targeted and murdered Republicans, to describe nothing more than boorish behavior, don’t you think?

That IS helpful.
I am familiar with the case, it was national news, but didn’t realize it originated right here with Mack, so that was very interesting.
ANd the juxposition between the apparent politics of the candidate and the endorser seem unusual, but many times people go to the mat on certain issues they feel strongly about, but are not so clear on other issues, so one has to understand the whole person, not his or her stance on one single item.
Still, the letter is alluding to something we aren’t privy to. Not sure if we should be privy to it either. Just musing. If Mack was the figurehead of the court case, then he got a lot of nasty criticism for YEARS from the LEft. How have people reassured him his public battering for Constitutional principle was worth it?

Thanks. Very helpful.
Don’t laugh, the way the letter reads to one who didn’t know who he was talking about, it seemed like Mack was complaining about Konopnicki’s WIFE being grotty to him.
Now you know why I was scratching my head!
“I know Bill to be a good husband and father. Because of this relationship I’ve been struggling … I know Sylvia is a good person, also. Bill took it upon himself …he took the initiative to…On the other hand, Sylvia has not called me or asked me to help in the least.”
OH! Sylvia ALLEN! The CANDIDATE!
So, well, as an endorsement, it’s a good example of Arizona educational success in basic expository writing skills.
And once again the rhetoric shows the reality. Klan, Nazi, etc…and invoking the First Amendment to do it…
YIKES!
Oh well….I guess some folks do not understand there are far more voters who find that sort of garbage repulsive than whackadoodles who love it.
VV,
I guess I just want to know if you think God is a liar, traitor or a Rhino or if you think Mack is just lying about his relationship with God.
I’d also like you to tell us how you know this.
The only people who invoke the Klan against Republicans are DEMOCRATS, who just forced the entire country to LOWER our dear flag to half-mast to HONOR former Democrat Grand Klan Kleagel SENATOR Robert Byrd, President Pro-Tem of the United States Senate, a life-long DEMOCRAT, who not only was in the KLAN, he established NEW KLAN OFFICES and became a HIGH KLAN OFFICIAL in the KKK – as he then became an HONORED HIGH DEMOCRAT PARTY OFFICIAL.
The Klan expresssly targeted and murdered Republicans. Making it pathetically true that a Republican would only be caught dead associating with the Klan.
One hopes “From Prescott” posting above, isn’t PROJECTING DEMOCRATIC PARTY sins onto innocent Republicans to generate fog for the DEMOCRAT in this Congressional race.
Ann, if a group goes about shouting down and hammering anyone who doesn’t love their Bradley, and they move about jumping on anyone or anything that disagrees with their adulation of Bradly Beauchamp; – then they are indeed behaving as nazis are they not deserving of being labeled as nazis?
wanuba, this group is not “republican” they are “conservatives” and their club I understand is comprised of all political stripes. Its their behavior that is earning them a reputation in CD-1.
Jan Brewer Endorses Bill Konopnicki for Arizona State Senate Legislative District 5
More endorsements to come tomorrow!

……………
NAZI was the German National Socialists, the Fascist party. They believed in more central government, high taxes and lots of government intervention in all aspects of life, from government control of industry to government intrusion in public education to promote the NAZI government social model to government control in people’s private health care.
Solidly planted on the LEFT of the political spectrum, jostling for position between Communism and vanilla Socialism, they really are in a class of their own in actual destruction and human suffering.
It’s disgusting nonsense to label ANY US candidate with that. It diminishes the evil carried out by the National SOCIALISTS and totally overinflates what is nothing more than boorishness.
If you can’t tell the difference, go home and hide under your couch. You can’t be trusted to make a rational decision on anything.
Tony, or should I say Jeff, Jan’s endorsement means little. Bill supported Brewers tax increase (he supports any tax increase for that matter) and Bill will vote against Russell Pearce as President of the Senate – something that Brewer is afraid of.
wanumba: “… high taxes and lots of government intervention in all aspects of life, from government control of industry to government intrusion in public education”
You are describing a “Neo-Con”. Socially conservative and otherwise tax and more government … sounds a lot like Konopnicki. (Who’s using his big bucks to carpet bomb his opposition much as John McCain (another hero of Jeff’s) is using his $$ to simply slam. Neither Konopnicki or McCain can stand on their own record in a straight up presentation of their accomplishments.
Thanks wanumba for defining so many of today’s “republicans”
Isn’t it more a case of Socialists and Democrats hiding what they are by parroting the rhetoric of Conservatives and calling themselves “Republicans” ? Meaning they perceive that “Socialist” and “Democrat” get NEGATIVES while “Republican” gets POSITIVES!
SO, they lie. They aren’t and never have been “Republicans,” “neo-con” or whatever.
This “RINO” designation is the first step in developing a necessary level of descernment amongst the voting population.
Veritas Vincit or should I say Carol, Gov. Brewer’s Endorsement means much; she is a “Rock Star” thanks to SB-1070. Not a day goes by that she is not flooded with requests from all over the country to endorse a candidate or issue. Stay Tuned tomorrow as she gives an endorsement that will drive you crazy (a very short trip)!
Jeff er, Tony … Jan Brewer is playing up an issue she had little to do with – she’s riding the whirlwind – an expression I don’t expect you to understand. Sooner or later the wind stops blowing – then what is there?
She’ll endorse McCain. And she’ll endorse Tom Horne too (if she hasn’t already). All you had to do was be seated in the front of the hall last January at the AzGOP Chairman’s Dinner to know where these little green footballs will land. Oh that’s right, you didn’t get your invitation.
wanumba – NeoCon is a term that goes back to a University of Chicago professor who noted the flag waving patriots who, though socially strictly conservative, were the ones pushing big government, higher taxes, and foreign adventurism.
First: Sylvia’s camp DID ask for Mack’s help and support but he declined saying he was too busy on his out of State speaking trips. Apparently his alliance with BK was already in the making…he was very distant. besides WHY would a good friend need to ask for his support anyway?
Second: #26 VV – Brewer DOES NOT want Russell Pierce as Senate Pres. There is a huge campaign going on to eliminate all conservative Senate Candidates who may vote for him and mess up their Progressive/Socialist agenda.
