Last night on Grassroots Interviews, I interviewed my client, Jerry Walker. He’s currently on the Maricopa County Community College Board and is running for re-election. It’s a non-partisan race, so his name will not appear on the ballot in the primary, but it will be on the November 2 general election ballot. There’s one seat the voters will be filling and Jerry has drawn a very liberal pro-tax and spend opponent.
Jerry would be a prime example of needing to retain an incumbent over a challenger because Jerry’s challenger is a liberal educrat that will protect the status quo. Jerry has opposed tax and tuition increases because he puts students first, then the taxpayers.
I heartily urge commenters to WATCH THE VIDEO first.
I really don’t understand how Jerry Walker has lasted so long in politics. He’s too honest and too critical of hypocrisy to survive, I would think, but he keeps hanging in there.
There have been times when Walker has been the ONLY voice of reason on the MCCCD board.
We really, really need to keep this guy on the board. He helps keep the other board members honest.
