Yah. People may not LIKE a rule or a law, but they’ll respect it if it’s FAIRLY applied to EVERYONE. Once favoritism and arbitrary standards apply, it’s a mess.

The law doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t matter what you, or I care for that matter, what matters is what the LAW states.

When the law is reduced to how any one person or group of people FEEL about it, it becomes arbitrary and unfair, and totally open to terrible abuses.

WHat’s the LEGAL status of that money?

It may be fine. But I’m not getting any answer on it, just dodges. I’m sure, like me, most people do not know what the law is, but on the surface of it, if money from a POTUS campaign can be used for anything else, then it becomes a big racket to “run” for president, get matching funds and then drop out, with beaucoup bucks. I can believe lots of people would like it that way, but so too a lot of people would NOT want mnoney abused in that manner, so it depends on whose views ruled the writing of the law.

I don’t know, but I’m doubting those funds can be legally transferred to Senate, Congressional or local races.

The local conclusion is that one verifies before conjuring up “certain facts.”

It’s a fair question, and it isn’t being answered. McCain supporters claimed he has a war chest of millions left over from the presidential run – millions that were NOT used for campaigning in Michigan for example, and who got lambasted by McCain’s campaign for arguing that McCain SHOULD HAVE made the effort campaign in MI? Palin.
She got grief for that, “not a team player” and now we find out the “team” was sitting on money that could-should have been used.

SO, McCain had funds, didn’t use them for campaigning in places like Michigan and now has some of the millions to use to campaign against a fellow Republican?

How much is bragging, how much is hiding, how much is truth? McCain’s war chest is the one in question. His name isn’t spelled JD.

I contributed $200.00 to each of Hayworth’s 6 election cycles, so that’s $1,200.00. It is a certain fact that JD did not use all of the contributions given him for the campaigns, many of which required no real expense.

Given your supposition, Hayworth owes me money. Since he won’t, I will gladly accept a detailed accounting of what he did with those leftover contributions.

This is a very good point. Those funds were solicited FROM REPUBLICANS for the purpose of defeating a DEMOCRAT, NOT to be used to defeat a REPUBLICAN.
