Ask John McCain for YOUR Money back!

This is great! Hat tip to Seeing Red Arizona for this post! (I’m going to repost it in entirety here on Sonoran Alliance) All credit to Seeing Red Arizona!
John McCain has been using money stockpiled from his failed 2008 presidential bid to barrage conservative senatorial candidate J.D. Hayworth with a relentless and malicious ad campaign.
If you donated to the lesser of two evils — the McCain over Obama campaign — you are entitled to request a refund.
Donations that were intended for use in one campaign were not meant by their contributors to be transferred to bashing J.D. Hayworth. Ask for a refund and send it where it makes a difference: to the campaign of J. D. Hayworth. Time is short.
Early voting for this crucial primary election begins July 29, 2010. The actual election day is August 24.
To request your refund, contact McCain headquarters:

Verifiable proof, please. In writing from a trusted source. Which leaves out the Hayworth camp and the American Post-Gazette.

This is comical. It’s just more desperation from the Hayworth campaign.

WEll, McCain supporters MONTHS ago were bragging about those presidential campaign funds being in “McCain’s war chest” to use against Hayworth.
MONTHS AGO.
ANd we inquired if that was LEGAL. No answer, just abrupt silence. Hmm!
This is a very good point. Those funds were solicited FROM REPUBLICANS for the purpose of defeating a DEMOCRAT, NOT to be used to defeat a REPUBLICAN.

OMG OMG! Money sent to McCain is being used by McCain!! Quick, someone liveblog another embarrassing Hayworth press conference.

How about OMG! is it LEGAL?

So, taking this to it’s local conclusion:
I contributed $200.00 to each of Hayworth’s 6 election cycles, so that’s $1,200.00. It is a certain fact that JD did not use all of the contributions given him for the campaigns, many of which required no real expense.
Given your supposition, Hayworth owes me money. Since he won’t, I will gladly accept a detailed accounting of what he did with those leftover contributions.
Money or ledger books, please.

“So, taking this to it’s local conclusion:

………………………
The local conclusion is that one verifies before conjuring up “certain facts.”
It’s a fair question, and it isn’t being answered. McCain supporters claimed he has a war chest of millions left over from the presidential run – millions that were NOT used for campaigning in Michigan for example, and who got lambasted by McCain’s campaign for arguing that McCain SHOULD HAVE made the effort campaign in MI? Palin.
She got grief for that, “not a team player” and now we find out the “team” was sitting on money that could-should have been used.
SO, McCain had funds, didn’t use them for campaigning in places like Michigan and now has some of the millions to use to campaign against a fellow Republican?
How much is bragging, how much is hiding, how much is truth? McCain’s war chest is the one in question. His name isn’t spelled JD.

According to The Arizona Capitol Times:
About half of the money in McCain’s massive war chest was transferred from his 2008 presidential campaign. According to McCain’s FEC report, $9.7 million was transferred to his Senate campaign from other accounts, most of which was transferred from his presidential bid.
The real huckster in the campaign finance war of words is Brian Rogers, the former Research Director for Al Gore’s wacko environmental hoax now serving as John McCain’s jokester lapdog.

This all revolves around one obvious fact.
McCain’s donations are not coming from Arizona rank-and-file sources
Which is only fair since he’s never represented them!

What are the rules on presidential campaign funds that come from our tax forms: “Do you want to contribute $1 to…” line?
I don’t know, but I’m doubting those funds can be legally transferred to Senate, Congressional or local races.
What’s the background?

I could care less if McCain used every cent he has in any account he has to inform the public about who JD is and what he has done for us/to us, over his lifetime. I am proud to leave my money in McCain’s account for him to use to fight this crazy blowhard JD. Perhaps JD and Abramoff can do a few money raising events for the Indian Tribes they stole from??

The law doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t matter what you, or I care for that matter, what matters is what the LAW states.
When the law is reduced to how any one person or group of people FEEL about it, it becomes arbitrary and unfair, and totally open to terrible abuses.
WHat’s the LEGAL status of that money?
It may be fine. But I’m not getting any answer on it, just dodges. I’m sure, like me, most people do not know what the law is, but on the surface of it, if money from a POTUS campaign can be used for anything else, then it becomes a big racket to “run” for president, get matching funds and then drop out, with beaucoup bucks. I can believe lots of people would like it that way, but so too a lot of people would NOT want mnoney abused in that manner, so it depends on whose views ruled the writing of the law.

I am sure it was not the intent for this BLOG Post to sound desperately desperate. But it does.

The simple test of course is those people who “don’t care if it is presidential campaign money so long as it’s used to expose JD” would react if we switched names:
How much would they “not care” if JD was using a war chest of presidential campaign left-over funds to knock McCain out of a Senate run?
Yah. People may not LIKE a rule or a law, but they’ll respect it if it’s FAIRLY applied to EVERYONE. Once favoritism and arbitrary standards apply, it’s a mess.

“real huckster in the campaign”
Is still JD Hayworth. The dude was tagged, his political career ended the day he decided to do that infomercial.
Hope the money was worth it.
