For immediate releaseRepublican Attorney General candidate Tom Horne is taking his message directly to voters to remind them that Andrew Thomas’s tenure as County Attorney was marked by failed prosecutions of political rivals, the threat of disbarment and a criminal probe by the F.B.I.
”Andrew Thomas was a disaster as County Attorney and taking his failed act statewide would be an even larger disaster for all of Arizona,” Horne said. “A judge wrote that one of Thomas’s acts as County Attorney had ’the appearance of evil’, the Yavapai County Attorney – a fellow Republican - refused to pursue a politically-motivated case sent to her by Thomas because it was, in her words: ’a threat to the entire criminal justice system’, and Thomas – without a shred of evidence – accused a respected judge of bribery. He is reckless, out-of-control and he cannot be allowed anywhere near the office of Attorney General where he would wreak more legal havoc on Arizona. These TV spots will remind voters they cannot entrust reckless Andrew Thomas with public office. ”
Tom Horne has 30 years courtroom experience, has been a judge pro-tem, special assistant attorney general and has written a legal textbook. He has fought for constitutional principles by litigating the Flores English language learner case, which saved Arizona taxpayers $300 million. He has ensured that the voter-approved ban on bi-lingual education in the classroom is vigorously enforced, and is a supporter of both SB 1070 and the Arizona Cattle Growers’ Association Restore Our Border Security Plan.
