LD7 Candidate Heather Carter, the AEA’s favorite “Republican”

This past week, LD7 candidate, Heather Carter, was featured in the Arizona Republic’s “My Turn” section.

“What does the future hold for Arizona? I envision a vibrant economic community, where people are employed, businesses are thriving and children are well-educated. I want a safe Arizona with a secure national border.”

(NOTE: The Republic makes it pretty clear to candidates that they will not be editing or proof-reading any candidate statements. All “My Turn” articles are published as-is and it is up to the candidate to make sure they submit only their best work. Fair enough, since the Republic interns are busy writing the news for the next day…)

“I am running for office to do the job that needs to get done – create a plan for Arizona that enables us to balance the budget, set a course for the future and focus on strong schools, strong economy and a safe community. I think part of the problem at the capital is people lose sight of the core mission…”

Now, I’m not sure what subject Mrs. Carter taught our LD7 children in school, but she must have had at least one dictionary in her classroom… Or maybe not, since she doesn’t know the difference between, “capital: as in, financial capital” and “capitol: as in the buildings making up our state capitol which Mrs. Carter wishes to serve in”. Let’s just hope she’s never taught civics/government/economics or any of the reading/English classes available to our kids.

“…get caught up in special-interest agenda items that take time and energy away from what we should be doing…”

Wait a second. I remember reading something about this… Oh yeah: Heather Carter was endorsed by the liberal AEA Union. This liberal union has been responsible for threatening legislators, protesting on the capitol lawn, holding back the budget process, as well as encouraging teachers to push Prop 100 using our kids. We’d like to know if Heather Carter was following her union boss in the picket lines last Spring. Seems like the only way the AEA union would endorse a Republican is if they knew they had her in their special-interest pocket…

Let’s make sure we support real conservatives, this August and November. Not union lackeys.

Birds of a Feather…

The other night at the Capitol Times Candidate Meet and Greet, it was comforting to know that my assertion that birds of a feather flock together is dead on.  Two Somos-endorsed and anti-1070 “Republican” candidates were flocking together.  Sorry the pics are so low quality, but they are of Jose Penalosa and Eve Nunez rubbing elbows.

Of course, Penalosa is the indecisive candidate that first threw his hat into the ring in the Scottsdale city council race, then decided to get into the CD 4 race…as if CD 4 isn’t already represented by an anti-1070 candidate.  He also gave aid and comfort to our enemies by attending a Harry Mitchell meet-and-greet. I bet Pastor likes Harry Mitchell too!  Oh, and Penalosa and Ed Pastor both favor amnesty.  Just watch Penalosa’s videos on YouTube for proof of that assertion.  The clear conservative choice in that race is Janet Contreras.

Nunez is the one who characterized 1070 as “inhumane.”  She ran for the LD 12 House in 2008 as a Democrat because Obama was popular and now that it seems like Republicans might be ascendant, she’s changed her party registration with the political winds.  That’s pretty deceptive, “Reverend” Nunez.  As I said earlier today, Clark Silver is the clear conservative candidate in the LD 12 Senate race.

The voters LD 12 and CD 4 need to be very wary of Nunez and Penalosa.

ICYMI: AZ Central Article Casts LD 12 Senate Race as Key Conservative vs. Moderate Matchup

Recently, an AZCentral.com article by Mary Jo Pitzl cast the Legislative District 12 Senate race as one of the key races in the state.  The article was entitled “Arizona GOP primary races will show how far right state leans.” While the article did not discuss the LD 12 race specifically, it did list the matchup as a “Key GOP race for State Senate.” In LD 12, the voters have the choice between a 21 year incumbent absentee RINO, Nelson; the anti-SB 1070 Democrat-turned-”Republican” Eve Nunez and the conservative challenger Clark Silver. The differences between the candidates couldn’t be more clear. Eve Nunez is supported by the RINO group Somos Republicans, Nelson is supported by the big-government group Greater Phoenix Leadership and he helped raise money for Democrats to get them elected, while Clark Silver is endorsed by the AZ 2010 Project and Pachyderm Coalition and supported by the West Valley TEA Party.

The article also listed other key races where it is incumbent upon Republican voters to defeat RINOs: In LD 5, the conservative Sen. Sylvia Allen vs. RINO Rep. Bill Konopnicki; in LD 6, appointed Sen. David Braswell vs. the conservative Lori Klein; in LD 11, RINO incumbent Adam Driggs vs. conservative Rich Davis; in LD 19, absentee, incumbent RINO Rep. Rich Crandall vs. conservative James Molina; and in LD 30, the conservative Sen. Frank Antenori vs. RINO Rep. Marian McClure.

Conservatives, you have your work cut out for you. Get behind these conservative candidates. Volunteer for them and donate money to them. Sitting at home or attending meetings isn’t enough! Most importantly, VOTE for them in the August 24 primary!

Grassroots Interviews with LD 23 house Candidate John Fillmore

Last night on Grassroots Interviews, I interviewed LD 23 House candidate John Fillmore.  The 10 minute gap in the video from about 19:47 to 29:55 was all my fault.  Apologies to Mr. Fillmore, but he laughed it off.  Needless to say, he’ll be back on the show after the primaries to highlight the differences between himself and his Democrat opponents.  I wish him the best of luck.
