We have a message for Rick Romley. This h’yar is Arizona, a true Western state. We don’t cotton to no dandies in these parts, but wow, what a dandy he is! Rick Romley, reaping the benefit of years of betrayal to the Republican Party stood before the LD 8 crowd last week, extolling his virtues as County Attorney. Polite applause turned to groans and muted boos as they learned he had asked Governor Brewer not to sign SB 1070, Arizona’s new law that requires enforcement of Federal legislation on the books since 1946. Romley does not support law enforcement, but wants to be elected County Attorney!
We have to admit that Romley looked magnificent. Central casting could not have done better selecting an actor to play the archetypical politician. Hi s exquisitely coifed white hair frames well chiseled features. When he smiles, which is frequent, his teeth transmit beams of light. From head to toe, Romley seems to be a man who cares well for himself. His dark, well fitted and apparently very expensive suit blended perfectly with a blindingly white shirt and very stylish tie. Even his shirt cuffs looked custom made. The shine on his shoes nearly cast reflections on the ceiling; they were that radiant, but it was his collector quality cane that mesmerized us. Museums with collections from 18th century royalty might be forgiven for such opulent displays of luxury, but we wonder about a man who purports to protect the public from those who would deliver us harm.
We do not question his sartorial taste. What we do want to know is what is in the mind of a man who spends so much time and care on himself, and whether there can possibly be a moment or two he could spare to think of us, his constituents. Given his stand on 1070, we have serious doubts.

How can this guy claim to be a Republican if the first thing he does in office is oppose 1070, and then weaken efforts to enforce the law. He must be some kind of real jerk.

Romley is on the wrong side of most issues. He asked the Governor to veto sb1070 so he could start undoing everything Joe and Andy put in place. If Jan had listened she would be politically dead. Now he even says he won’t support the human smuggling bill.
What kind of a law enforcement officer could he be if he believes he can pick and choose the crimes to enforce. He is trying to force the open boarder agenda down our throats. Rick you are out of touch or just too arrogant for public service. Like it says, go home before you chip a nail. He is a dandy! Bill Montgomery is the only real choice in this one.
Mealy mouthed (retired veteran) Romley will probably be defended by and voted for by a few of the old codgers at the VFW, who, like some do with our Manchurian Candidate McCain. They will continue to cry in their beer and whine, “but…but…he’s a VETERAN!”
The rest of us will strap him to the horse he rode in on and escort him out. For good.
Given his past obedience to the BananaRepublican elites, one can understand Romley’s reluctance to enforce the human smuggling laws!
It would disrupt his benefactors’ “coyote contracts” and expose them to prosecution if the smugglers began “singing”!
Wow the most effeminate Blog in Arizona is calling someone who got both his legs blown off a dandy? Really? Democratic Diva has more collective balls (and time in service) than Sonoran, but you call someone that did things in Vietnam that would make most cry a dandy. Me thinks a couple of you are projecting.
BTW you can tell Sonoran is a bunch of cowards, you posted this as a press release. Not tough enough to put your name to it, huh?

The political history of Mr. Romley could be compared to Benedict Arnold. He is the political pawn of the Board of Supervisors and will do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING they require. He is definitely not OUR County Attorney. He is simply not a man to be trusted.
The scene at the LD 8 meeting was really something to experience. Once JD was “allowed” to speak, he started to share some very unpleasant truths about our “good ole boy” Romley. JD’s powerhouse statement about “Diamond Jim” Romley was when he explained how our County Attorney asked the Governor to NOT SIGN SB 1070-the crowd was definitely not happy with that little bit of information! It was the first time in many years that a current high-ranking politician got booed at on of the LD meetings! I somehow don’t think it will be the last time for this very honest outpouring of displeasure with Diamond Jim.
(Was he a former Esquire model?) Romley, like SOOO many politicians who are currently in office, are about to experience a voter turnout and voter backlash similar to a tsunami! We are going to get rid of political hacks (like Romley) and put in people who understand and uphold our laws-ALL of our laws! Romley has stated he will not support SB 1070 in any way.
Well Diamond Jim, enjoy the position of BOS lapdog for a few more months, your time is coming.
And folks, do remember to NOT vacation in LA, San Fransisco, or Chicago this summer. This boycott thing works both ways!
