Who does Jan Brewer really work for?

YouTube Preview Image

I tried to find the Yes on 100 video the governor appears on TV on to include in this post.

But after watching this, I’m amazed.  Who does she really work for?

Well, if you are stumping for left wing unions and PACs, who are the major funders for this effort, well then, you’re working for left wing unions and PACs.

The ads are clever and list the most inane sounding unions and PACs as “major donors”, like the fire union and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, but dig into the donor list and see who you find.  The ultra-left wing AEA, among other more notorious liberals.

Does Jan Brewer believe that one of these left wingers will EVER vote for her?  They wont.  Not until heck freezes over.

Jan Brewer and those Republicans who support her, in the true spirit of Orwellian doublethink and doublespeak, purport to be Reagan conservatives while simultaneously proclaiming that prosperity will only come via a tax increase.

They attempt to provide themselves with political cover by saying that Reagan raised taxes to close deficits.  Did he?  Arguable.  What is unarguable is that Reagan NEVER argued that you can tax yourself into prosperity.  But that is precisely the type of “leadership” Ms. Brewer would have us believe is Republican leadership.

It’s a farce.  They are trying to turn the world upsidedown and then say it’s right side up.  They are being left wing liberals and supporting left wing liberal agendas while trying to claim to be conservative Republicans and doing so in the midst of the TeaParty revolution.

Could the governor do anything MORE to hurt the Arizona Republican Party at this point in time?  I don’t think so.

This little gem is the best though.  See this video below, in it you will hear the standard tax and spend mantra:

Unless you vote to increase taxes, the prison doors will open, the school doors will close, children will die and ambulances will stop running.

Anytime you hear that, you are hearing a tax-and-spend liberal speaking about their issue.

If the governor had any shame whatsoever, she would be embarassed by this.  I’m sorry, Governor, you cannot tax yourself into prosperity, no matter how you spin it.  Also, conservatives don’t advocate for tax increases, no matter how you spin it.

If you’re going to argue that she’s pro-life, therefore she’s conservative?  Well there are pro-life democrats too.  Just being pro-life does not a conservative make.

Anyway, here goes…..  Jan Brewer: People are Going to Die Unless Prop 100 Passes

Promise that higher taxes will “protect education” rings hollow

by Starlee Rhoades

In two weeks, Arizona voters will decide if we should raise the state sales tax by 18 percent. We’re being told this money will “protect education.” We’ve been down this road before and it didn’t work out the way we were promised.

Ten years ago, we voted to raise our sales tax and dedicate the extra money to classroom spending. This year, the Arizona auditor general did an investigation and found that just over half of that money actually makes it to the classroom.

For every teacher in Arizona, there is almost one “non-teacher” on the payroll. Tucson Unified School District, for example, has hundreds of employees who work at the school district headquarters. Those folks aren’t in the schools teaching children.

Beyond excessive numbers of “non-teachers,” money is spent on all sorts of other non-classroom related items. TUSD’s website proudly highlights its wellness program that “aids in developing physical activity, healthy nutrition, stress and disease management and self care lifestyles.” But this wellness program isn’t for children. It’s for the adults who work for the district. Tax dollars that should be helping children learn instead are going to programs to help teachers lose weight.

One more note on TUSD. This headline in yesterday’s Arizona Daily Star caught my eye: “TUSD board rejects cutting own staff.”

Multiply Tucson’s excesses across the state’s 165 school districts and it might be easier to forgive me for being skeptical when I hear that the only choice we have is to raise our taxes or fire a bunch of teachers. If politicians were serious about protecting education, they would reduce the amount of money going to the massive education bureaucracy and stop funding programs that don’t help children learn.

We have already raised our taxes with the promise that the money would get to the classroom. If the government hasn’t kept that promise, why would they keep this one?

Dr. Gosar Calls on Congress to Enact Law Limiting Citizenship

Flagstaff, AZ. April 30, 2010: Dr. Paul Gosar, CD1 Republican primary frontrunner, has called on Congress to get serious about true immigration reform and finally pass H.R. 1868 (Birthright Citizenship Act of 2009). Introduced in 2009 by Rep. Nathan Deal (GA-9), the legislation would limit citizenship to children born to parents who are (1) a U.S. citizens or nationals; (2) a lawful permanent resident alien whose residence is in the United States; or (3) an alien performing active service in the U.S. Armed Forces. Currently there are 91 cosponsors of the bill including two AZ representatives, Trent Franks and John Shadegg.

“It is difficult to imagine a more irrational and self-defeating legal system than one which makes unauthorized entry into this country a criminal offense and simultaneously provides perhaps the greatest possible inducement to illegal entry,” said Lino Graglia, University of Texas law school Professor and constitutional scholar who supports H.R. 1868.

Dr. Gosar has been traveling across Congressional District 1 discussing the importance of immigration enforcement with Arizona voters. “We can no longer just talk about securing our border; it’s time to get serious,” said Dr. Gosar. “I couldn’t agree more with Prof. Graglia that the system is backwards. By correcting a mistaken understanding of the 14th Amendment we can start to eliminate a large incentive for immigrants to cross our border illegally to have their children. H.R. 1868 would do just that and in Congress I will not rest until this bill is passed.”

This idea is by no means new. Former Arizona Congressman, the late Bob Stump, who represented northern Arizona for many years, was a true fighter for responsible immigration reform. Stump introduced a similar bill in 2001, H.R. 190. Unfortunately the bill never made it to the floor for a vote.

In addition to these efforts currently the U.S., under the guidelines from the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice, does not grant citizenship to children born in the U.S. to diplomats and other foreign nationals. “The 14th Amendment was never intended to be used as a ploy to grant citizenship to children of parents who illegally enter this country,” said Dr. Gosar. “Restoring a correct understanding of citizenship should be a key element in implementing a broader, more aggressive national immigration policy.”

Dr. Gosar also calls into question Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick’s effectiveness as rural Arizona’s representative for once again not taking the lead on an issue of critical importance to Arizona. “Rep. Kirkpatrick continues to let her constituents down.  While our ranchers are being murdered, President Obama and Rep. Kirkpatrick, along with their Democrat cronies in Washington, fail to act,” stated Dr. Gosar. “Rep. Kirkpatrick has had plenty of opportunities to join Arizona in its fight for border security and immigration reform.  As one of her constituents, I am disappointed that she has not added her name to H.R. 1868. We need a stronger voice on immigration reform and I intend to be that voice for the people of our District.”

The 51-year old husband, 25 year resident of Flagstaff, father of three, sports and hunting enthusiast has been traveling all over Congressional District One for the past several months and has enjoyed meeting with supporters who share his belief that his background, and his experience in rural Arizona’s way of life, make him the GOP favorite to unseat Kirkpatrick.

Gosar has been endorsed by the American Dental Political Action Committee, Pinal County Supervisor Bryan Martyn, Sheriff Joe Arpaio and NRA past President Bob Corbin to name a few.  He is an Arizona’s former “Dentist of the Year”, who practices general dentistry in Flagstaff.
