Republican PC’s: throw Rick Romley’s petitions in the garbage

Rumor is that recycled county attorney Rick Romley has sent out a letter to Republican precinct committeemen asking for them to collect petition signatures for him.  Romley may not have a Republican bone in his body, but he sure has nerve.

This is a man that has consistently endorsed liberal Democrats over conservative Republicans.  He was completely worthless in fighting illegal immigration while in office.  He’s been even worse out of office, calling efforts to fight illegal immigration “McCarthyism” and blasting Senate Bill 1070, which was signed by our Republican Governor and supported by every Republican legislator except RINO Carolyn Allen.  For the past three years, Romley has been a lobbyist and special adviser for liberal AG Terry Goddard.  All this leaves no doubt where Romley’s political sympathies lie.

Romley has not been there for other Republicans when they needed support.  Now he expects the party to rally behind him?

If you do receive a petition from Romley and a letter asking for you to collect signatures for him, please put it where it belongs–in the garbage.  Romley is UNWORTHY of your support, he’s just NOT a Republican.

Whats the “Buz” all about in Arizona?

If you live in Arizona, you most likely have seen the political TV advertisements from “Buz Mills”, a multi-millionaire, who is running for Governor. He also placed ads on the jumbo-tron at the Tempe Tea Party on April 15th in an effort to show support for the Tea Party movement. Nonetheless, he has manifested out of nowhere and decided to run for public office. In todays political environment, many people like the idea of a “regular Joe” running for office. The release of Mr. Mills’ campaign report was the first time that anyone had really heard of him and the fact that he announced he was bringing $2.1 million to the table for his campaign threw many folks back wondering if he could be a real contender for Governor. What we publicly know of him is that he is a member of the National Rifle Association’s board of directors, and he is the owner of a company called Gunsite (which operates a 2,000 acre weapons training site). As with any newcomer into the political arena we should always try to do our research and see who we are really dealing with. We need the truth about every candidate to surface so that we can make the right decision come voting time. In this case, John McCain is right…character does matter.

On the surface all seems very well with “Buz”. He appears to be a conservative thinker, 2nd amendment right supporter and a very successful businessman. Digging deeper in his past is where things get fuzzy with “Buz”. In the media ads that his campaign runs on TV, “Buz” says we’re not going to get the truth from politicians, but were sure going to hear the truth from him. The truth is that according to several Florida court documents and other sources, “Buz”, aka Owen P. Mills, which is his actual name; was found in breach of contract and acted in bad faith during a multimillion dollar business deal in Sarasota, FL. Coincidentally this was right about the time he decided to relocate to a town in the middle of nowhere in Arizona. [Read more...]

Threats Absent of Any Proof is Political Theater

In the tradition of Democrat senators and Representatives who challenged the Washington, D.C., Tea Party attendees, walking through the crowds with cam recorders, trying to record epithets and racist comments without avail, Democrat Raul Grijalva claimed victimization from alleged threats and closed his Tuscon and Yuma offices. Yet there is not one scintilla of evidence that a threat was made.

The one consistency among Democrats claiming victimization is the absence of evidence. Even the broken glass door at Gabrielle Giffords Tucson office is absent of evidence. Who destroyed the door? It could have been Giffords’ staffers at her behest. We’ll never know. There is no evidence. It is simply political theater.

Now, Grijalva continues to work against the interests of Arizonans. First he called for a business boycott against Arizona, which harms even his own constituency. Now he has called for the federal government to limit cooperation with Arizona officials.

In both instances, Grijalva has attempted to violate U.S. Constitutional rights of Arizonans by asking the federal government to treat Arizona and all Arizonans in a lesser manner than the federal government treats all other states. By urging a boycott, he is attempting to injure all Arizonans financially.

By taking these actions Grijalva has violated his oath of office to protect and defend the United States, meaning all states including Arizona. Grijalva has engaged in a premeditated effort to harm all Arizonans. His hatred of Arizonans and Arizona is not political theater.

Former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas Applauds Governor Brewer for Signing Senate Bill 1070

PHOENIX, ARIZONA APRIL 23, 2010.  Former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas applauds Governor Jan Brewer for signing Senate Bill 1070 earlier today.
Thomas is currently campaigning for Arizona Attorney General.

While in office Thomas supported and advised the legislature about the legislation.

“This will give state and local law enforcement officials important new tools for the fight against illegal immigration.  I strongly support its passage and look forward to defending the law in court next year should I be elected Attorney General,” Thomas said.
During Thomas’ time in office, crime rates have plummeted.  The 19 percent drop is more than twice the national rate of decline, and in despite of an 11 percent increase in the county’s population during that time.  The illegal immigrant population has dropped by anywhere from 18 percent (Dept. of Homeland Security estimate) to 30 percent (Center for Immigration Studies estimate).  Like the fall in crime rates, this dramatic decline in illegal immigration is far greater than the average in the rest of the nation.
Thomas’ office successfully prosecuted the Baseline Killer and Serial Shooting suspects.  During his tenure he has pushed for harsher penalties against child predators and, more recently, launched an innovative program to restore Gila River habitat and pursue charges against environmental pollution there.  Thomas is in favor of the death penalty and has been criticized by defense lawyers for his toughplea bargain policies.  He has tackled tough public corruption cases and led innovative programs to ensure better food safety and crack down on graffiti and cruelty to animals.
Thomas is married with four children.  He is a graduate of Harvard Law School.  Prior to serving as Maricopa County Attorney, Thomas served as an assistant attorney general for Arizona, deputy counsel and criminal justice policy advisor to the Governor, special assistant to the Director of the Arizona Department of Corrections, and a deputy county attorney.
