Attack on JD Hayworth was cheap shot

DeeDee Blase, a radical illegal immigrant activist, has issued a press release denouncing JD Hayworth, claiming to speak for Arizona’s Republican Hispanics. She does not. There is already an Arizona Latino Republican Association. Apparently they are not radical enough for her, so she went out and formed her own organization, composed of herself. Its primary purpose appears to be to bash other Republicans like Sheriff Arpaio who disagree with her open borders position.

If you look at her press release closely, you’ll see there is no one listed on it, only “Communications” and info@somosrepublicans.com. Her website doesn’t list any officers on the “About Us” page. http://somosrepublicans.com/about It is telling that no Republican Hispanics other than DeeDee are willing to be officially associated with this organization.

Her arguments against Hayworth are pretty bad. She dislikes ALIPAC, the immigration group that endorsed him, claiming they support something called “Operation Wetback.” But if you click on her link, it goes to a bulletin board on ALIPAC’s website where anyone can post comments. Someone posting a comment on their website about President Hoover’s roundup of illegal immigrants is not the same as ALIPAC endorsing the effort.

DeeDee, that’s fine you’re supporting John McCain over JD Hayworth, you’ve been very vocal about your support of McCain in the past, and we’re now hearing that you may be working on the McCain campaign as a paid staffer. Did you mention that connection in your press release? Just don’t pretend to represent more than yourself, or other Republican Hispanics. You’re a one-woman show and just because the Arizona Republic gives you plenty of coverage because you bash other Republicans doesn’t entitle you to speak for other Republican Hispanics. Who elected you?

I didn’t even know about this ‘endorsement.’ The McCain camp hasn’t been playing it up at all, clearly because it’s so pathetic.

  2. AZJack says:

I didn’t know about this endorsement either. She’s just looking for a home. She should try getting on the Repugnent staff.

  3. Travis says:

A fake newspaper complaining about an organization not having bone fides is hilarious.

Honestly, whining about this is so petty. Then throw in the rumors and namecalling and it makes one wonder if your jackets all tie in the back!

  4. DD says:

Dear “NO COMMON SENSE” in Arizona,

    1. You are being libelous in stating that Somos Republicans is for Open Borders. I don’t think Jesus Christ would be happy with you in spreading rumors. I am a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and served my country honorably and was willing to die for her.

    2. Somos Republicans has the largest Hispanic Conservative movement in the State of Arizona. Alice Lara is a spokesperson for her ALRA and she was endorsed by the likes of Joe Arpaio, so naturally, she will not go against that grain.

    3. I have never been paid by McCain, nor have I been staffed by him. Again, I don’t think Jesus Christ would be happy with you in spreading rumors.

    4. ALIPAC has the ability to monitor the website content…..they simply chose not to do so. In fact, an ALIPAC moderator participated in the Operation Wetback discussion.

    5. Last but not least, I will gladly discuss my core leadership council when JD Hayworth RELEASES HIS DONOR LIST. Savvy?

    Have a nice day!

    DeeDee

  5. DD says:

It’s pretty laughable that the writer of this story will not disclose his or her name. What is the writer afraid of?

The writer of this simple-minded gazette wants other organizations to disclose leaders of the cause — the cause of growing our Republican tent, however, the writer cannot disclose his/her own name.

    Hyprocites to say the least.

You have the blind leading the blind in the JD Hayworth campaign as JD hires SIMCOX as his senior policy advisor. You can’t get more “dixiecrat” than that. Simcox, JD and Russell don’t know a THING about Capitalism.

I have come back to this website for one purpose and one purose only: WHEN WILL JD HAYWORTH DISCLOSE HIS DONOR LIST?

  6. Hi everyone!

Just so you know, Dee Dee has personal animus towards me as I used to debate her online and she did not do very well. Her personal hatred for me is well documented.

Here is the national press release we are putting out today since the John McCain campaign was dumb enough to use Dee Dee’s attack jargon.

McCain took her bait and now will pay the price for trying to deceive the press and public.

ALIPAC Calls for John McCain to Apologize To Minorities

  7. DD says:

William Gheen has the ability to monitor his website content and to modify it. He has moderators who can eliminate his Operation Wetback content.

William Gheen has admitted to an Arizona reporter that he has used the term Wetback.

Fact of the matter is…..WETBACK is equivalent to the N word in my community.

Using the term wetback may not be a big deal to Gheen, but it is a big deal to the Hispanic community.

The Republican Party cannot grow their tent with the likes of ANY organization who uses the wetback term LOOSELY.

  8. DD says:

    William Gheen,

Bob has told me much about you and your dealings with your political contributions.

Bob said here’s a link to detailed expenditures in ALIPAC’s last filing with the FEC. Of 58,000 in receipts this election cycle, their mid-year report shows only $250 went to a political campaign and most of the rest went to three paid employees, with the lion’s share going to Gheen, who gave himself a raise and now nets over $3,200 per month after taxes, according to the FEC filing.
    http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/dcdev/forms/C00405878/427981/sb/ALL

Here are links to all their filings:
    http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/dcdev/forms/

Note Gheen is constantly whining that he can’t get contributors to provide all the information required under federal law. This seems hypocritical that his followers insist others follow the letter of the law but they won’t follow the law themselves! What part of the word “L-E-G-A-L” don’t they understand?

Perhaps it’s time for Gheen to set an example and refuse any contributions that do not include all the information required by federal law! I guess giving himself another raise is more important…

  9. Roger says:

This DeeDee sounds like a little self important troll.

“Fact of the matter is…..WETBACK is equivalent to the N word in my community” Is she too stupid to know this was the name of the government program?

    Get over yourself!

  10. DD says:

What is it with these groups? Why is there so much corrupt behavior with these hate mongerers?

Apparently…Gheen knows the leaders of the Minuteman Project…..so maybe he can enlighten us all to Gilchrist.

Gilchrist, 58, a national figure in the fight against illegal immigration, was removed as president of the Minuteman Project this month by its board of directors, which accused him of abusing his power and leaving more than $400,000 of the organization’s money unaccounted for.

    http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-gilchrist27feb27,1,2510037.story

What is it with these types of corrupt leaders and their mismanaging of monies?

And why haven’t I received a copy of JD Hayworth’s DONOR LIST? I’m waiting for goodness sakes. Did Simcox (JD’s Senior Policy Advisor) advise JD Hayworth not to disclose this?

  11. DD says:

    Roger,

Slave labor used to be legal, too, and “masters” used to legally refer to slaves as “N”. Does that mean you want to continue to use the “N” word, and does that mean you want to go back in time to the “slave days”.

    [/sarcasm]

  12. Roger says:

None of those words were official government programs. Tell you what. Get the feds to go back an retro actively change the name of the program. If you can, maybe someone will take you seriously.

  13. Joe M says:

    DeeDee,

If JD Hayworth is the Republican nominee for US Senate in 2010 will you:

    A) openly support the Democrat candidate

    B) openly support JD Hayworth

    C) withold your support and in turn help Arizona send an anti capitalist pro abort Senator to DC

  14. DD says:

    Joe,

    A) Why would I support JD Hayworth who has Simcox as his Senior policy advisor and Simcox has basically endorsed Fordes who now awaits trial in the killings of Raul Flores, 29, and his 9-year-old daughter, Brisenia. She’s accused of leading a May 30 raid on their Arivaca, Ariz., home because she suspected Flores was a drug smuggler. Police say she planned to use any drugs and money she found to bankroll her Minutemen American Defense group. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty. The case isn’t likely to go before jurors until 2011.

    {snip}

Simcox sent out an e-mail saying he was promoting Forde to a statewide leadership post. It was to a job she urged him to create.

  15. Crystal G says:

DD – In the future please do not say that AZ Hispanics or AZ Republican Hispanics reject or approve of anyone. You do not speak for me or the many that are capable of speaking for themselves.

Furthermore, your argument against the word “wetback” seems a bit petty when you fail to mention the context in which the word was used. The website you mention may have the ability to monitor it’s posts, but as long as the posters aren’t attacking or threatening anyone, why should they remove it, “free speech” and all…?

  16. DD says:

Speaking of “free speech” …..Why are my comments being moderated? I wrote a lengthy post about the ties of Simcox and Fordes (who is apparently awaiting trial for murder according to the herald net). Why did my post not get posted??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    Hmmm.

  17. Crystal G says:

DD – I see a post by you regarding Simcox and Fordes in response to Joe M’s post. Is this what you’re referring to?

Speaking of “Hmmm”…is that you’re only response to my post? I just want you to see the error in what you did by attempting to represent a whole group of people, when we did not ask to be represented. I see this happening a lot of times, specifically with the issue of immigration.

  18. VSB says:

“Her website doesn’t list any officers on the “About Us” page. http://somosrepublicans.com/about It is telling that no Republican Hispanics other than DeeDee are willing to be officially associated with this organization.”

It may not list officers, but I see plenty of names and pictures of Hispanic Republicans on her site. I think you are blind, dude! Get some glasses or something!

“You can’t get more “dixiecrat” than that.”
    ………………….

    Huh? Southern Democrat?

  20. DD says:

JD is receiving an endorsement and refuses to disavow it from a man who apparently used to work for the Democrats from 1882-2000.

Sources are saying that “William Gheen worked for the Democrats for eight years (1992-2000) and the Republicans for eight years (2000-2008). He now considers himself an independent.”

Additionally, his socialist pal Melvin Little claims Gheen was in the college Democrats. He is NOT NOW a Republican!

    Neither is Lou Dobbs.

  21. DD says:

    VSB,

I will gladly list the core leadership AFTER JD releases his donor list information.

What does JD have to hide with regard to his DONOR LIST?

I have been asking about JD’s donor list for 10 hours now, and nothing….nada….zilch.

JD and his minions are the ones who are hiding their donor list. Is JD afraid of exposing the dixiecrats?????

    Pray tell.

  22. VSB says:

    DD,

I was supporting you and making fun of the original post from “commonsense”. Take a look again at what I posted. The first part is a quote from the article not me….

  23. wanumba says:

If you are interested in JD’s donor list, why don’t you mosey on over to his official campaign site instead of sitting over here for ten hours intoning about “dixicrats,” “minions,” and assorted vagaries like “sources say” and then whinge about lack of transparency?

  24. wanumba says:

Lou Dobbs is a Democrat or an Independent. Haven’t heard him claim Republican, ever.

Is there a litmus test wherein approved Democrats aren’t permitted to be concerned about illegal immigration?

Illegal immigration is a bi-partisan issue. It’s that pesky LAW thingy.

  25. hey now says:

Everyone involved in this fight is a little too in love with themselves. Seriously, you guys couldn’t live without each other.

  26. DD, You are insane.

The “sources” that say I was a Democrat are my own website at http://www.williamgheen.com I’m not ashamed of my service to Democratic campaigns when I was a younger and more misinformed man. My resume points out I served in several leadership postions within the Democratic Party. Just like some other people you may have heard of like Senator Jesse Helms and Congressman Walter Jones.

They all used to be Democrats. You are so ignorant DD, but that does not stop your mouth does it?

I helped elect some of the first women and minorities public office. I have a background in civil rights campaigns which makes your crazed attacks even more disingenuous.

All in all, this is pretty cool though. John McCain’s campaign has just made the big mistake of getting into bed with you DD and that is of great benefit to those of us that want McCain defeated.

This is going to be a long and draw out battle DD and by the time it is over, a lot of people in Arizona will be snickering at you behind your back and putting as much distance between you and themselves as possible.

Nobody likes a liar DD. Nobody, not even other liars that will use you for their purposes for short periods of time.

I’m coming to Arizona soon DD and I am going to make a point of making sure you little one woman website pretending to be an organization and your lies get exposed in a way where you regret ever attempting to poison the public debate with your filth.

ANd what does that say about you?

  28. wanumba says:

I’m inspired now to start my own group:

    “Nous sommes Republicans.”

That would be for Francophone Africans from Third World countries with GNP per capita of less than $832 a year who wanted to escape the French neo-colonialist economic stranglehold or who seek political sanctuary from socialist government thuggery by immigrating to the USA for opportunity, but had to get a passport, apply for visas at the US consulates and Embassies, filling out all the paperwork and waiting months and years and days in lines to get interviewed and approved, and purchase an airline ticket, and prove to the airlines they had proper documentation before being allowed to board.

Lest we be guilty of favoring West Africa, in East AFrica, there’s also a bunch of Kenyans who were violently displaced from their homes during the Kenyan election rampage orchastrated by Obama’s political favorite, the Marxist Odinga, who need relocation to a safe place. About 200,000 of them, mostly Kikuyu, who Obama’s family tribal group, the Luo, hate with a passion …. hmm maybe they’d be more welcome in Mexico. But maybe Obama would feel sorry for their plight and be moved to want to help in a small way to help them get on with their lives after they’d lost everything, including family members who were killed.

We could call it “Sisi ni Rapublekani.”

  29. JD Hayworth is a fat mouthed idiot, I can’t believe you guys think he’s electable.

John McCain ran the worst presidential campaign in recent history and now maybe the worst run Senate campaign in the current cycle.

As a Dem, I thank you all. You made my day.

  30. Oh, and AILPAC folks:

    It’s called losing the narrative.

  34. Arizona Conservative says:

William Gheen, we don’t need outside agitators in our senate race. Stay home with your klan buddies.

I am voting for a true conservative, not a bigot supported by another bigot looking for publicity.

  35. Carlist says:

    Az Conservative:

And who is the “true” conservative?

The guy who tried to cross the aisle in 2001 and auditioned for Kerry’s ticket in 2004?

And since when does support for immigration via the rule of law constitute bigotry?

  36. Arizona Conservative says:

Spend some time researching ALIPAC. There’s a wealth of information about ALIPAC bigotry. They say they’re not bigots, but many use derogatory terms to describe Hispanics. Moreover, they often seem to have the amazing ability to spot illegal immigrants from a distance, and without ever seeing their papers…

JD Hayworth aligns himself with groups like ALIPAC and the Minutemen. No, most who are against immigration reform are not bigots, but we’re not talking about mainstream groups. ALIPAC and the Minutemen are fringe groups, who will hurt conservatives. True conservatives do not engage in bigotry.

  37. Stephen Kohut says:

    Arizona Conservative,

Do you support SB1070 and HB2632 dealing with sanctuary cities, criminal aliens, law enforcement and safe neighborhoods or is your type of “true conservative” pro-amnesty like McCain?

    kewl. That’s like Superman!

So, you just gonna drop that and run off or enlighten us a bit more as to how you discovered THAT amazing talent?
    ………………..

“They say they’re not bigots, but many use derogatory terms to describe Hispanics.”

    ………

Can you define “many” and what sorts of derogatory terms … as in actual quotes? Or is it just an “impression?”

Miss DD was here for ten hours by her account whinging about “minions” and “dixicrats.”
Then you’ve told Mr. Gheen to stay away like he was some Northern Carpetbagger decending on the South, but to stay with his “klan buddies.” Huh? Does that work as an analogy?

Looks like the slinging goes both ways. And I’ve tried very hard to figure out exactly WHAT the charge is .. dixicrat? klan? Democrats? Democrats in Republican Clothing? DIRC? or RINO? Racist Democrats trying to push enforcement of laws …? But Democrats in Washington are talking amnesty.
So is the complaining about McCain or Hayworth?

And frankly you haven’t seen racist until you’ve witnessed five Hispanics conspire to backstab an African legal immigrant out of his work and out of his work visa while he took a week off to bring his wife an child to live here with him, legally.

Immigration issues are bigger than one special interest group.

  39. Annie Oliver says:

Once, on his show, JD said that all people named Jose and Maria should be kicked out of the country – in ARIZONA. I understand that illegal immigration is a huge problem, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to be blatantly RACIST.

  40. thomasj says:

So, she doesn’t like that JD is a racist. That seems like an ok thing to denounce, racism. I feel like this is a cheap attack on her because she spoke against what you believe. Good move guys, whining about it will definitely help your cause. If McCain was an open racist, then she’d be against him too. She has morals, is that so terrible?

  41. Clifford Anderson says:

There’s just something about JD Hayworth that irks me… He just seems so disingenuous.. If his alleged comments “all people named Jose and Maria should be kicked out of the country” are true then why are we even having this discussion?

  42. Stephen Kohut says:

    Annie Oliver,

I am not a fan of JD but its too easy for people to throw a bucket of crap at the fan and hoping some of it will stick to it’s intended target whether there is any merit to the accusations of not. How about back up for your claim? Date, time, transcript? News articles? Anything? Just your recollection?

  43. MARIA says:

It is no secret that JD is very against hispanics. He has made more then one comment stating his beliefs. We are in Amercia, freedom of speech is grand…however, if you want to represent the Americans (wetback or not) at least try to like everyone when you are on the air! You will not be elected in AZ with such outright hatred of us.

  44. Kellie says:

I am sure JD is not worried that his acceptance from this endorsement is BAD for the Republican party??!! JD needs to get his head out of the sand and stand up for what he says he is about. We need to represent this state and this Nation with power and not ideals such as these. Please pass along to JD that his party needs him to back away from this group, it is not good for us Republicans!

  45. Stephen Kohut says:

    MARIA,

Arizonans have passed by over 70% every ballot proposition trying to control illegal immigtaion and criminal aliens. Arizonans and JD are not anti-hispanic. We are adamently anti-ammesty and anti-illegal alien. It’s that simple and, to use your phrase, “wetbacks” are not Americans. They are illegal aliens.
