Arizona Hispanic Republicans Endorse Eve Nunez for LD12

Phoenix, AZ ? Arizona Hispanic Republicans are endorsing Eve Nunez for Arizona State Legislature ? District 12.  Eve Nunez has always been pro life, pro family and for strong public safety.  Nunez stands for less taxes and smaller government.
We believe that Eve Nunez will grow our conservative tent in LD 12.
According to the Adopted 2004 Legislative Plan, there are 170,821 people living in LD12 and  32% of that are Hispanics.  Approximately 38% of LD12 voters are registered as Democrats, while approximately 42% are registered Republicans and almost a whopping 20% are registered as Independent.
We believe that Eve Nunez will not only  win back the Hispanic Republican voting share we lost in 2008, but she will also have the ability to win over Latino registered Independents and Democrats. Eve Nunez  is the founder of the Arizona Latino Commission which gives her strong influence with 500 Latino evangelical leaders in the State of Arizona.  She has a very good relationship with Evangelical Phoenix-area leaders because of her years of community experience.
Eve Nunez won the National Service Award in 2003 through President George W. Bush, and she also received the Business Woman of the Year Award in 2004 from the RNC.  More recently, Eve received the Friend of Phoenix Award in 2006 by Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, and she also received the Volunteer Service Award in 2007 from Governor Janet Napolitano.
We believe that Eve Nunez is the future of southwestern politics as our demographics continue to change in the State of Arizona at a rapid pace.  The Republican Party went through a rapid growth when the Evangelical community aligned themselves with the GOP Party. According to the PEW Research, ?The rising political clout of evangelical Christians is not the result of growth in their numbers but rather their increasing cohesiveness as a key element of the Republican Party.  (Pew Research Center (2004, December 5). Religion and the Presidential vote.  Retrieved February 1, 2010, from the Pew Research Center site: http://people-press.org/commentary/?analysisid=103).  We believe we can continue that cohesive trend within the Republican Party.
Somos Republicans endorses and supports Eve Nunez as she continues to work with the Evangelical community to strive towards bringing more of the Latino Evangelical faithful into the political realm.  We believe that through Eve, we will be able to win Independents, Democrats and grow our conservative tent and our ideals.

Committee to Retire McCain 2010

October, 2008; Arizona Republic: The national Rasmussen Reports has McCain with 51 percent to Obama’s 46.

“I have to tell you. Sen. Obama is a decent person and a person you don’t have to be scared of as president of the United States,”  John McCain

…better known as the famous McCain straight-talk line, “I was for it before I was against it and, I’ll be for it again once I’m re-elected.”

A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE WITH JOHN MCCAIN… mccaintomexicoImage6

MIKE WALLACE: … let me ask you for some straight talk. Do you think that Senator Obama is a socialist?

MCCAIN: I think his plans are redistribution of the wealth. He said it himself, “We need to spread the wealth around.”

MIKE WALLACE: But, Senator, you voted for the $700 billion bailout that’s being used partially to nationalize American banks. Isn’t that socialism?

MCCAIN: Of course. It was a package that had to be enacted because the economy was about to go into the tank.

… or how about this delightful gem;

LARRY KING: Senator, there was a part of the speech — I wonder if you enjoyed it — when he [the President] criticized the Supreme Court for overturning portions of McCain/Feingold, your treasured legislation. How did you react to that?

MCCAIN: Well, obviously, I agreed with the president.

… and here’s an excerpt from the outrageous ad’s he’s running in Arizona;

[Disconbobulated vaguely soothing and threatening voice:] Perhaps no battle in our lifetime is more vital than the one John McCain fights now: a battle to save America… John McCain leads the charge to slash government spending, bloated bureaucracies, and ridiculously unaffordable ideas like government-run health care.

[Senator McCain:] “President Obama is leading an extreme left-wing crusade to bankrupt America. I stand in his way everyday. If I get a bruise or two knocking some sense into heads in Washington, so be it. I’ll keep fighting for … Arizona as long as I’m in the Senate.”

Here’s a fun challenge, dig into the past and lets find all those little McCainisms proving how often he changes his political stripes and how he’s NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

RETIRE MCCAIN 2010

The McCain Drain on Taxpayers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, February 1, 2010

McCain Drain On Taxpayers: 2007 Amnesty Plan Would Have Cost Taxpayers $2.6 Trillion (Source: Heritage Foundation)

PHOENIX, AZ. JANUARY 26, 2010. Sen. John McCain has been attacking his conservative challenger on spending.

Yet, Hayworth actually has a better lifetime score from Citizens Against Government Waste, “America’s #1 Taxpayer Watchdog.” (Hayworth:89% / McCain:88%).

And the McCain camp has apparently forgotten about his 2007 amnesty plan for illegal immigrants that would have had a long-term cost of $2.6 trillion for U.S. taxpayers, according to the Heritage Foundation (http://www.heritage.org/research/Immigration/wm1490.cfm).

Furthermore, Senator McCain voted for the massive bank bailout bill in 2008, which was full of earmarks. And during his presidential run he proposed spending $300 billion to buy up every bad mortgage in America, again bailing out banks and borrowers.

Closer to home, Senator McCain has supported taxpayer expenditures of over half a billion dollars for sports stadiums.

“While we all respect Senator McCain’s service to his country, these difficult times call for a reliable conservative we can count on to stand up to Harry Reid and President Obama’s plans that would further damage the economy. John’s record of proposing huge new government programs, opposing tax cuts, pushing amnesty, and supporting bailouts should concern every Arizonan and raise understandable concerns that he will revert to his liberal maverick ways once the election is over,” Hayworth said.

Gabrielle Giffords is Nancy Pelsoi

Gabrielle Giffords likes to portray herself as a Blue Dog Democrat. Her voting record belies her Blue Dog claims. Giffords is a Nancy Pelosi clone: a radical far left liberal who voted the way Nancy Pelosi wanted her to vote. Let’s review the facts.

The so-called $787 billion “Stimulus Bill,” which not one member of the House of Representative read because major parts were not even printed, was approved by the House on February 13, 2009. Approximately 30% of the money was spent in 2009 providing no stimulus and no jobs. Unemployment climbed past 10% even though President Obama claimed it would keep unemployment below 8%. Gabrielle Giffords voted for the bill without reading.

The so-called S-CHIP $33 billion explosion of government run health care was originally designed to cover poor children. The Congressional Budget Office stated this bill opens coverage to higher income children and opens the program to adults for the first time. Gabrielle Giffords voted for the bill because Nancy Pelosi demanded her vote. The bill passed on January 14, 2009.

The so-called Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act is anything but fair. It is a sop to the trial attorneys that allows alleged pay discrimination lawsuits to proceed years after any alleged discrimination took place. This bill increases the legal costs of businesses, which will contribute to higher prices to consumers. The bill is without value but passed the House on January 9, 2009. Gabrielle Giffords voted for the bill because Nancy Pelosi demanded her vote.

The American Clean Energy and Security Act, the so-called “Cap and Trade” bill is the largest tax increase in American history. The bill is based not even on “settled science” but plain bad science, with data intentionally manipulated by politically drive and corrupt scientists. The House passed this bill on June 26, 2009. Gabrielle Giffords voted for the bill because Nancy Pelosi told her so.

The Stupak Anti-Abortion Amendment, which passed the House on November 7, 2009, was added to the so-called Affordable Health Care Act for America Act to prevent federal funds from being used for abortions. Pelosi actually fought against passage of this amendment but lost. Pelosi allowed the Amendment to be offered in the House as a compromise toward passage of the Health Care bill. Gabrielle Giffords voted for passage of the Stupak Amendment.

The Affordable Health Care for America Act, which in the final analysis was found unaffordable by Massachusetts voters, was passed on November 7, 2009. This bill added over $1 trillion to the deficit because certain costs were stripped from the bill to artificially lower the cost. Even the Obama administration stated the bill would add to the deficit. Gabrielle Giffords voted for a bad bill because Nancy Pelosi told her so.

The Medicare Physician Payment reform Act, passed by the House on December 19, 2009, was the legislation stripped from the Health Care bill above to artificially lower the bill’s cost. This bill adds more than $200 billion to the cost of health care and is an example of the dishonesty of House Democrats. Gabrielle Giffords voted for this bill because Nancy Pelosi said so.

The so-called Permanent Estate Tax Act of 2009 was passed by the House on December 3, 2009.  The bill provides for a 45% inheritance tax on estates larger than $3.5 million. It cancels a one year repeal of the tax schedule for 2010. The tax is not indexed for inflation, which like the Alternative Minimum Tax, will continue to increasingly tax more and more income from taxpayers. It is a bad bill that taxes money already taxed. Gabrielle Giffords voted for this bill. Why? You already know.

Gabrielle Giffords has not been doing the people’s work. She has been doing Nancy Pelosi’s bidding. Giffords voted eight out of eight times for bad bills. She even voted for at least one bill without reading it. She cannot deny it. She has betrayed her constituents. She has betrayed her oath. She has betrayed her country.

The shame of it. She should resign.

Sam Crump to Resign Today for AZ CD-3 Bid

Sam CrumpCapitol media outlets are reporting that State Representative Sam Crump will resign his state legislative seat today to seek the Republican nomination for congressional district three.

This will obviously throw another twist in the process to replace both Senator Gorman and Representative Crump in Legislative District 6. Two seats remain vacant which has prompted a special meeting of the Republican Precinct Committeemen in that district to nominate three names to replace each vacancy. Once those two sets of three names are nominated, they will go to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors for a final vote. (This is why the elected position of Precinct Committeeman is extremely important!)

We will have more on this process later.

Watch for the same process to take place in Legislative District 7 where Senator Jim Waring’s replacement will occur this week.

Representative Sam Crump has been a strong conservative vote in the legislature so his vote will be missed on both fiscal and social issues.

We’ve lost count of how many candidates have jumped into the CD-3 race but it will have a number of highly qualified conservative candidates including Sam Crump.

Kelly Out Front in AZ CD-8

Jesse Kelly

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 1, 2010

TUCSON, AZ. The Kelly for Congress campaign reported very strong fundraising numbers for the fourth quarter of 2009. The cumulative amount raised is more than 3 times that for all other CD 8 Republican candidates combine. The Cash on Hand is more than 4 times the number for the other GOP candidates combined.

Last summer we faced 3 primary challengers. We have moved far ahead of two of them in donations and one had to step out of the race because he was called to active duty. After we worked all summer bringing down the poll numbers for Representative Giffords, one more candidate entered the race. We look forward to out-working his fledgling campaign as we did with the others.

The Kelly for Congress campaign has an aggressive schedule for fundraising again this quarter. We will continue utilizing new media to attract supporters and donations as well as traditional fundraising events. We will also be sending a mail appeal to our internal list of thousands of supporters.

Jesse Kelly is a candidate for Arizona’s Eighth Congressional District in the southeastern region of the state. For more information on the Jesse Kelly campaign please visit VoteJesseKelly.com. You can contact campaign manager Bret Summers at (520) 237-9056 or bret.summers@votejessekelly.com.

Arpaio Backs Gosar for CD-1 Race

Paul Gosar for Congress

Arpaio Goes for Gosar; Backs Flagstaff Small Businessman for Congress

America’s Toughest Sheriff Knows Gosar will Be Tough in Washington

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz – February 1, 2010. Arizona Congressional District 1 candidate Dr. Paul Gosar picked up a key endorsement as Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he is backing the small businessman and dentist in his race to unseat Ann Kirkpatrick.

“Dr. Gosar understands the challenges facing businesses and how to create jobs because he runs small businesses,” Arpaio said. “And because he is a health care professional, he has a deep understanding of the right kind of health care reform our country needs – and not the plan that a Democratic Congress is trying to hoist on America with Nancy Pelosi’s plan.”

Kirkpatrick not only voted for the health care plan that passed the House, she also voted to include taxpayer-funded abortions as part of the scheme.

“I think people know I am a law-and-order guy, but to have the country’s most recognized local law enforcement officer behind me says something,” said Gosar. “I am grateful to have Sheriff Arpaio in my corner as we fight to get Congress back from liberals like Ann Kirkpatrick.”

Gosar, a husband and father of three has lived in Flagstaff for almost 25 years where he owns his practice. He has garnered many awards and honors, such as the Arizona Dental Association’s “Dentist of the Year,” and was inducted into the Arizona Dental Association’s Hall of Fame.

He served as the President of both the Northern Arizona Dental Society and the Arizona Dental Association. He also is the Vice-Chair of the ADA Council on Governmental Affairs.

Bill Konopnicki to Challenge Sylvia Allen?

For months, an undesignated campaign committee has been sitting in political limbo under the name of Konopnicki 2010. Politicos have been speculating that Bill Konopnicki would run for the CD-1 position or take on conservative hero, Senator Sylvia Allen.

The latest campaign finance reporting shows that Konopnicki has $54,500 sitting in his campaign coffers.

The Arizona Capitol Times just tweeted that Konopnicki may have just made his mind up where to spend all that cash. Konopnicki’s Twitter account (which appears to be by invitation only) supposedly is announcing he will challenge Allen for her Senate seat.

Here we go on another campaign in which a moderate-RINO Republican will be squaring off against a conservative Republican in a battle for the heart and soul of the party. Note to all conservatives, send your donations to Sylvia Allen!

Hayworth vs. McCain; NBC’s Todd: One of Hottest Races in Country

Hayworth vs. McCain

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 1, 2010

Top NBC Political Reporter Calls Hayworth V. McCain One to Watch

Phoenix, AZ- February 1, 2010, Conservative J.D. Hayworth has not yet officially announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat occupied for the past 24 years by John McCain, but already national commentators are referring to the contest as one of the top races to watch nationally. On MSNBC’s Daily Rundown, late last week NBC Political Reporter Chuck Todd refers to J.D. Hayworth’s probable run against Senator John McCain as one of the top races in the country to watch.

Raising the possibility of losing to the more conservative Hayworth, Todd said, “McCain is taking no chances and dramatically altered his voting record and rhetoric in the past three months.”

In an attempt to overcome an uninspiring record for conservatives on taxes, immigration and key social issues, Senator McCain has already begun attacking conservative former Congressman J.D. Hayworth on spending.

Interestingly, Hayworth actually has a better lifetime score from Citizens Against Government Waste, “America’s #1 Taxpayer Watchdog.” (Hayworth: 89%/McCain: 88%).

Furthermore, Senator McCain voted for the massive bank bailout bill in 2008, which was full of earmarks. And during his presidential run he proposed spending $300 billion to buy up bad mortgages, again bailing out banks and borrowers.

And in Arizona Senator McCain has supported taxpayer expenditures of over half a billion dollars for sports stadiums.
