Federal Election Commission Questions McCain Campaign Finance Reporting

Searching on McCain at http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/imaging_info.shtml yields the following information:

This committee, McCain’s candidates campaign finance committee,
failed to report complete financials for 2Q09 and 3Q09.
They omitted information required BY LAW and were forced to file amended reports several months later!
Arizonans demand full disclosure and transparacy!
As you can see from this document http://query.nictusa.com/pdf/881/29030171881/29030171881.pdf#navpanes=0John McCain disclosed one or more contributions which exceed contribution limits.
According to the FEC, ” The acceptance of excessive contributions is a serious problem,” and, “Failure to comply will result in enforcement actions.”
Enforcement actions?!? We need to demand greater financial responsibility from our elected officials.

His presidential campaign finance committee FAILED TO REPORT REQUIRED INFORMATION in 1Q09, 2Q09 and 3Q09 and were forced to filed amended reports as much as 7 months later!
John McCain, Inc. http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/fecimg/?C00430470 appears to have multiple reporting problems in 2009.
-According to the FEC http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/fecimg/?C00430470, John McCain’s 1Q09 report accepted excessive contributions and discloses joint fundraising receipts while failing to file the proper forms for joint fundraising receipts. “Failure to comply with the Act may also result in an enforcement action against the Committee.”
-According to the FEC, http://query.nictusa.com/pdf/919/29030160919/29030160919.pdf#navpanes=0 John McCain 2008 Inc. appeared to have disclosed uncashed refunds and improperly retained them.
What are Republicans going to do about this? There are many questions.
Currently, John McCain operatives such as Shiree Verdone and the county Chairman of Yuma county are trying to usurp the Arizona State Republican Party chairmanship position based the very same and similar accusations they are making themselves and via strawmen against the Chairman.
Ironically, their own boss has unfortunately engaged in almost precisely the very same thing!
Is that not ironic? Is that not inconsistent? These McCain operatives support the behavior when they do it, but oppose the behavior when their opponents do it.
Sounds more like Senator Al Gore then Senator John McCain. Is there a difference these days?

Maybe you do not look at the FEC website often or research other candidates. But excessive contributions are common and can be seen on almost any candidates quarterly report. It is only a problem if the contribution issue is not remedied quickly, which it usually is on the quarterly report.
Also a lot of campaigns file late and amended quarterly earnings.
So do I like McCain, No. Do I think he is a RINO and needs to go? Yes.
But in the end this is only slightly above the Tom Horne hit pieces on this blog. This is just nit picking.
Why not have an article how McCain probably wants to work with the Dems to try and curb yesterdays supreme court decision?

A new Rasmussen poll now gives Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) a healthy lead in his Republican primary, after having previously been in a tight race with his potential right-wing opponent, former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.
The numbers: McCain 53%, Hayworth 31%, and Minutemen activist Chris Simcox with 4%. Back in November, McCain was barely edging out Hayworth by a 45%-43% margin, with Simcox also at 4%.
From the pollster’s analysis: “For McCain, the GOP Primary appears to be his biggest challenge since no major Democrats in the state have stepped forward yet to run against him. Still, 74% of likely GOP Primary voters have at least a somewhat favorable opinion of McCain, a figure that has not changed since November. Hayworth’s favorable ratings are down nine points to 58%. Perhaps more significantly, the number with a Very Favorable opinion of McCain has jumped 10 points since last fall to 45%.”

RNC Treasurer and AZ GOP Chairman Randy Pullen has done it again. Pullen’s official Arizona Republican Laundromat is open for business.
Pullen’s newest scheme to break campaign finance laws took place in the last few months of the 2009 City of Tucson elections. And it’s a nasty one.
Sonoran Weekly Review has discovered a new Exhibit A in the long list of formal and informal indictments against so-called “clean elections”.
“Clean elections” provide state or municipal funds (up to a pre-set maximum) to a participating candidate, who (allegedly) couldn’t raise money and get elected on his or her own. In contested races, participating candidates are given “matching funds” when a non-participating candidate spends money – the dreaded “trigger” funds. This type of campaign reform is supposed to equalize the playing field – keeping big money from having an undue influence over an election.

Sen. John McCain (R) has known from an early stage that he could face a tough primary in his bid for re-election this year, and acted on it. He already launched radio ads touting his effort to block President Obama’s “extreme left wing crusade.” And just this week, Sen.-elect Scott Brown (R) recorded robocalls that went out to voters in Arizona.
Now, a Rasmussen poll (502 LVs, 1/20, MoE +/- 4.5%) shows the Maverick just over 50 percent in a potential matchup against former Rep. JD Hayworth — not the best position for an incumbent to be, but an improvement over the dead heat Rasmussen found in November.

Hayworth has not entered the race yet, but been publicly flirting with it for some time. Meanwhile, McCain’s camp announced this week that his former running mate, Sarah Palin, will campaign for him in late March.

With regards to the December filing that the McCainiacs on this blog are beating the AZGOP about, that is PRECISELY what the AZGOP will do.
The AZGOP will file an amendment exactly like John McCain filed amendments.
Furthermore, I find it interesting that the AZGOP currently uses the same auditors that the previous several Chairmen of the party used and guess what?
The AZGOP auditors have voiced NO CONCERNS over AZGOP accounting!
Further, THE FEC HAS LODGED NO COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE AZGOP.
Take that, McCainiacs, and go stuff it!

Ober, The FEC may not be aware of any irregularities at this time concerning the reports filed by the Pullen group .However, the day is young, I think that will be forthcoming. Secondly, the firm preparing the reports for Pullen is doing so with documentation provided exclusively by Pullen. The Utah firm is not using outside data to prepare the reports which is why a full fraud audit is being called for. If Pullen would supply a copy of his bank statements for review, I believe his monthly ending bank balance and the actual FEC balance of cash on hand will be in stark contrast to each other.The bank statement is going to surface at some point which holds all the pieces to this puzzle.

A full audit costs $25,000 at a MINIMUM. You apparently know very little about the accounting industry.
If you are impeaching the AZGOP auditors, then you apparently are also impeaching Bob Fannin and Matt Salmon, since they used the same firm.
Additionally, to date, there is no fraud to report of! The FEC doesn’t see fraud. The auditors don’t see fraud. It’s merely an ASSERTION by you and John McCain!
Neither have you been able to show otherwise.

Here’s the big difference folks – McCain amended his filings when these types of routine campaign finance issues came up and the AZGOP still, STILL refuses to say that it will:
(1) file an amended report to fully disclose just where the $50,000 from the RNC went,
(2) account for the tens of thousands of dollars of OUTSTANDING DEBT it reportedly owes to its vendors, outside consultants, utility bills and its own employees and
(3) acknowledge that its officers have repeatedly misreported its finances in state and federal filings.
The response to this serious problem from the AZGOP has been stonewalling, attacking its ‘enemies’ and wildly accusing others of various conspiracies. OK, fine, I see why this might seem like a good idea.
But the points I raised above remain at the end of the day, and that is troubling indeed.

The cost of an audit is not going to excuse what has occurred within the party finances. Randy Pullen and Tim Lee have both conspired to commit fraud.
The bank balances will reveal the truth. The accounting firm is being contacted as we speak, they are being made aware of everything.
Randy asserts the $50,000.00 omission on the last report was an error on the part of the accounting firm.
If the firm, while preparing the report, had been looking at a bank statement, they would have seen the deposit, in the form of a wire transfer, on the statement. The bank statement balance on the month ending November 30,2009 would have represented a value consistent with all deposits being accounted for in the reconciliation of that bank statement.
There is NO WAY an accounting firm reviewed that bank statement and filed the report it did. I have been in business more than 45 years and hold a business degree. Don’t ever tell me I know little about accounting.

Bank statements…so what is wrong with just producing bank statements? End of the year statements should tell a lot.
If the RNC money is there, great! Just show the end of the year statement, the paper trail should be very open and clear all of this up. File the proper paperwork and all is well.
That is free and requires nothing more than the cooperation of Pullen.
While they are at it…can we see the payroll accounts? Things like, where the money for payroll is coming from?

Apparently you have no experience as a director of a board of a corporation. Unless otherwise required by statute or organizational bylaws, bank statements are PRIVILEGED MATERIALS by law and as such, disclosure of that information, unless otherwise legally required, is a BREACH OF FIDUCIARY DUTY.
No responsible director of a board of any corporation would engage in a breach of fiduciary duty.
Any moron like dishonest Abe who attempts to get a director of a corporation to engage in a breach of fiduciary duty, is specifically and intently aligned against that corporations interests.
In other words, those people who are attempting to get the chairman to go against the interest of the AZGOP (which is a corporation) are against the Republican Party of the State of Arizona!

The FEC report is designed to provide financial transparency. In the broader sense, the FEC report should reflect what the bank statement details, Expenditures, deposits and an ending balance of available funds.
Providing a bank statement to the board is a window to what has taken place in that given month. Continuing to distract from reviewing a bank statement and defending Randy Pullen and Lee Miller is going to haunt you in the end.

We seem to have a case of McCainiacs on steriods today. I’m sorry, I think you ladies protest too much. Regarding Randy Pullen, until and unless we have an audited finding of misappropriation of funds or substantiation of FEC charges what we have going on is McRINO supporters trying to fan flames into a nonexistant fire.
Regarding McRINO, looks like the FEC has taken issues with his campaign. How serious they are will be up to them to decide.
By the way, when I’m at the state meeting on Saturday should I look for name badges that say “Just a PC”, Honest Abe” or will you all be going incognito using your own real names?

I am asking an honest question, but way to jump down the throat of a citizen who is interested in why we are all fighting so much.
I am asking, Why not just prove there was no wrong doing to shut everyone up and get to real issues? If there is no wrong doing then great, if there is then take action. Right? I am not some paid hitter to sit here and repond with talking points like it seems most here are. I would just like to know, It is sad that the little we donate may be going to illegal activity. I just want to know? Is that wrong?

Showing the bank statements to members of the exec committee would not be a violation of any law.
Cindy, I am sure you are neither a Dem or working for McCain and you have every right to demand full disclosure.
It shouldn’t matter, right is right. Members of the exec committee have expressed a concern over the finances, people with an legitimate interest have asked for information and been denied.
Show those with a right to see it the books, the bank statements, and clear this up.

I went looking at the state meeting today for the name tags that said “honest abe”, “just a pc”,.. Guess what. All our blogging cowards were incognio using their real names. What a surprise. Gotta love the McWimps!
McRINO’s reception was frosty at best. Very mixed boos, JD chants and some applause. When a senior senator gets booed at his party’s state meeting and when people call out the name of an undeclared challenger the old boy is in a heap of trouble. Spin away boys as its all McRINO has got. Your boy’s in a flat spin ready to crash and burn!
The tempest in a teapot regarding the FEC filings and the books was shoved back in the face of the McCainiacs by Tim Lee. No one had the guts to call Lee and ask him anything about this RINO pipe dream fostered on the internet. Books are open. Updated FEC filings are avaiable on line. I loved the part them the vote was taken to approve Lee’s report. Nothing but aye’s. Not a single McCainiac even had the guts to vote nay. What a spineless group. Aren’t you “honest abe”, “just a PC”…
What I am looking forward to is the sea change this year as all us new Tea Party, constitutional conservative PC’s that enterred the party clean house in county leadership and state committeemen. There won’t be a RINO left in a position of effective power in the party structure.

Duh says McCain got 60,000.000 votes? She is talking about all over the country…big deal! We were voting against Obama! We had a choice of a corrupt, angry, senile fool or Obama, an impostor, fraud of a leader who McCain and other Congressmen didn’t have the courage to investigate and check for veracity of eligibility.
What We the People must do now is to clean house and rid ourselves of all the dead wood before our country catches fire!
McCain will only get dirty with decent opponents. He was too much of a coward to truly debate Obama. Unless the campaign $$$ from Soros came with the promise to let Obama win.
Funny that corrupt McCain’s campaign funds were gone and all of a sudden Prince -Soros- Charming came with the millions on

I have to agree with Angee even though I don’t live in Arizona. When Bush gave his last state of the union address he and Ted Kennedy were caught on camera falling asleep. That stuck in mind along with the McCain/Kennedy amnesty legislation and I was very disappointed when the Repubs shot themselves in the foot by nominating McCain over Romney. Despite the downside of McCain I felt he was the lesser of two evils in the last presidential election.
At this point I hope Arizonians opt to oust McCain for a candidate who will truly work for the people of this country as opposed to sucking up to the illegal alien crowd.
