  1. The Klute says:

He better enjoy it while it lasts… When Paton enters the race, Kelly’s going to be all frowny-face.

  2. Parent X says:

Hmm. He’s quoting Laffer but should look at the economics behind the Laffer Curve. Can’t have extremes on one side of the other.

  3. todd says:

Parent X – so true. I think the laffer curve is flawed but I have yet to find a conservative who actually understands it’s implications.

  4. Andrew says:

Paton is not going to get into this race. Kelly has been hitting the trail for 9 months and raised tons of support and money. Paton is just another politician who is part of the problem. He voted for Napalitano’s budgets and now our state is the worst off financially in the nation. How does he hide from that???

  5. Andy Goss says:

Jesse, are you afraid to show the clips of me dominating you :-) ? Don’t worry, I’ll have them up soon. Thanks for being such a good sport, it was a great time and I look forward to Jan 26 in Vail at that debate and also Feb 11 at Ironwood Ridge High School for that one. Should be a great time

  6. For once Klute is right. When Paton gets in Kelly and all of the other wannabe’s better figure out a new office to run for.

    Paton= Real Deal

Kelly = Not Ready for Primetime

We need somebody who can take Gabby out, we need Paton.

  7. Andrew says:

Paton = Friend of Big Government (according to AZ Federation of Taxpayeers and Americans for Prosperity)

Paton = D rating on conservaitve issues (according to the Goldwater Institute)

Kelly = Rock solid conservative who didn’t vote to approve Janet Napolitano’s budget.

Think I’ll stop voting for career politicians and vote for Kelly, the guy who believes the power belongs to we the people because I am “conservative to the core”!

  8. Supermax says:

Yeah, Andrew, you keep saying that about Paton. Unfortunately, for you Paton got the Goldwater and AFT ratings for missing votes in 2007. Where was he? Iraq.

A couple of other points. Napolitano budget? Paton voted for only Republican budgets the entire time he was in office, including the largest tax cut in state history. Obviously, Kelly doesn’t really
understand the importance of a Republican budget because he just registered as a Republican in April.

You keep saying Paton is a “career politician”. Five years is a career? Maybe for Jesse Kelly. He didn’t even stay in the Marine Corps that long. Paton’s career is as an Army officer. He enlisted in 1999 and is still serving. Jesse is busy taking stimulus dollars while criticizing everyone else. How about this for an idea: Jesse get a career before you run.

Why don’t you answer the question of why Kelly’s company, which he is so proud of, took stimulus money. Yeah, real conservative…

Kelly did not win that debate. He comes across as arrogant and juvenile.

  9. Andrew says:

Supermax….it must be hard to be so very wrong.

Paton’s missing votes did not count against him. He also voted against school choice and was only 1 of 4 Republicans to vote for Napolitano’s budget.

Notice you also fail to addrees the “Friend of Big Government” rating.

Also, didn’t we do the Paton v. Giffords thing before. Oh yeah, that’s right….Giffords beat him.

  10. kralmajales says:

Bee couldn’t take out Giffords…he was the best biz candidate you all had. If you have any prayer you need a true conservative voice with no baggage like Jesse Kelly…

  11. kralmajales says:

and honestly…you all have no hope of winning this one…Bee was your best shot. Paton is now part of a unified republican govt in Arizona that has failed in every way possible. He can’t run on his record…and Giffords wont even have to say anything but…”state budget” and he is so over.

Kelly…has no experience…but at least his lack of a record is some promise. NO baggage.

  12. Angelo says:

One thing everyone is forgetting. 2010 is the election of “We, The People”. Business as usual isn’t going to fly with the tea party factor and anti-incumbant mood of all voters. Paton is the “establishment canidate” and if forced on the people, will be the same senario as NY-23. No baggage or experience is a real plus in this election.

He is a political opportunist, who sees that Giffords is vulnerable. Otherwise, why did he skip running against her in the last election cycle? Because he knew he had no chance and said that in so many words.
