Or perhaps nobody bothered to inform them of what happened to Julian and Julio Mora ('blogged at http://goldwaterstate.blogspot.com/2009/10/obligatory-sherrif-joe-post.html ) or the Soviet/Third-World manner in which Arpaio carried out his enforcement in general. The numbers are interesting, too: over 30,000 by inmate screening, which Arpaio and Co. will be allowed to continue, and less than 300 by his street-level operations. If that's "effective" I'd hate to see what Franks and Smith call "ineffective". We know which Congressmen don’t give a damn about the Fourth Amendment.
