Klute, You didn’t address the problem: Obama wanted the nation’s children to ask themselves what they could do to help HIM. The administration had to admit they got it wrong and then changed it. This country doesn’t ask its children to work for the president.

The problem is that the nuts in the Obama Nation keep accidentally saying what they really mean and then have to take it back because they forget they’re not talking to a room full of Hippy-Dippy Berkley Bums.

There is no mystery about what the subject if the talk is as it is right in the press release which for some reason is not linked to here. It says:
“During this special address, the president will speak directly to the nation’s children and youth about persisting and succeeding in school. The president will challenge students to work hard, set educational goals, and take responsibility for their learning.”

Wow. Sound like real leftist indoctrination. BTW, in looking into this I have come across several rightwing articles that actual misquote some of the proposed assignments in ways that seem deceptive. I would encourage people, as always, to look at the materials instead of other peoples’ summaries.

“That’s exactly the point: When the Commander-in-Chief announces that he wants to address the nation’s children and is extraordinarily vague on the topic or purpose; everyone should sit up and take notice.”

It’s even MORE troubling when the Commander-in-Chief wants to address the whole NATION – in front of both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court – and that it will be televised on all major networks! He presumes to tell Travis the “State of the Union”?!?!? I think not!

Semantics, my liberal friend. Everyday we all eat…whatever we eat is our diet. However, if I say I am on a diet it is with the clear knowledge the listener will assume it is to lose weight. If I am eating whatever I want..it is my diet…I didn’t lie! You misunderstood me.

When NASCAR drivers need public votes and sentiment to win a race, then I will cry foul.

I have read the “homework” asked by the Department of ED, it is plain and simple a tool to make promote image of President Obama to school children. Not the office but the person in the office.

If I had school age children, I would keep them home and offer lesson on the Constitution…Bill of Rights and all.

It’s the unrelenting self-promotion by this president and his campaign manager-n-chief, Rahm Emmanuel, that make people instantly doubt any genuine benign patriot motive to hold a massive school pep rally for our youngest children.

The fact that there seems to be no specific reason or pertinent theme to the rally also makes people suspicious.

The liberals on this post keep screaming, “You guys don’t even know what he’s going to say yet!”

Come on! Look at your headline and ask yourself, why is the emphasis put on “government schools” and not the unbelievable intrusion by a power grabbing radical masquerading as a patriot? Two disingenuous acts, no matter the difference in extremes, do not make a right.

Please, I understand your extreme dislike for public education, but to label “government schools” as the bad actor in this scenario is just another blatant attempt at manipulating a situation to tell a story that isn’t true in order to unfairly discredit public ed.

Did any public school come up with this idea? Did any public school write that agenda? Did any public school suggest the nationwide use of the powers of the POTUS to infiltrate our schools, a right given to the states NOT the state, and indoctrinate our children with his radical leftist, liberal agenda? NO,NO, and NO!

Leaving aside that talking about “personal responsibility, doing one’s best, respect for others, parents, authority, rule of law, etc.” can be cast as pushing a political agenda, I don’t see anything else in the documents posted that indicate something else is going to be pushed. Where do you see evidence of that?
