In Case You Missed Ann Kirkpatrick…

In case you missed Congressman Ann Kirkpatrick’s well-controlled telephone town hall meeting, we have it on YouTube (courtesy of Republican candidate for CD-1, Bradley Beauchamp).

We’re assuming that Congresswoman Kirkpatrick was on the line from an undisclosed bunker somewhere in the district but its quite possible she was somewhere abroad.

Here are those town hall phone conversations. You gotta love technology and the web!

Scarpinato Bails on Star, Riske “Retires”

Matt Benson with the Arizona Republic posted an interesting insider story on some changes taking place with the Arizona Daily Star and Arizona Capitol Times. Daniel Scarpinato who wrote for the Star recently accepted a position with the Capitol Time’s Yellow Sheets as the replacement to Phil Riske’s retirement.

Whether or not Riske’s departure from ACT was an actual retirement or firing is at question.

Benson, who writes for one of ACT’s competitor, provides another perspective. I’m assuming he spoke with Riske over what actually happened but according to Benson’s Political Insider:

But Riske, who had been with the Capitol Times for seven years, said he was fired earlier this month following a dispute with Publisher Ginger Lamb.

The publisher and I had a disagreement on Aug. 7 over promised freelance work for Arizona Capitol Times after retirement. She demanded I leave immediately,” Riske wrote the Insider in a statement. “The publisher appointed a friend to stand over me as I cleaned out my desk, all in front of two dear, perplexed colleagues. It was a humiliating and scarring way to end a 43-year career in journalism.”

Ouch. Nothing like ringside seating to the politics of political reporting.

Incidentally, while I on the topic of political reporting let me make a shameless plug. Sonoran Alliance is always looking for creative and politically conservative writers. Since our arrival on the scene, we’ve been a launching point for several other political blogs here in Arizona – some of them well known. If you’re interested in writing for Sonoran Alliance, please send me a writing sample via email to sonoranalliance@gmail.com.

You Tube video targets Gorman’s vote on budget/taxes

Plenty of views of this new video on computers all over the Capitol, you can be sure of that.  It appears to have come from within LD6, first appearing on an email sent to LD6 PCs, urging them to contact Senator Pamela Gorman and speak with her about the budget package that hinges on her vote.

We Are Change AZ behind AR-15 Incident

Hat tip to Gila Courier for chasing down the truth on the gentleman who carried the AR-15 assault weapon at the Obama protest.

Here is the video the guys at WeAreChangeAZ shot of the “incident.”

YouTube Preview Image

“Chris” who wore the AR-15 is a Libertarian and ardent defender of the 2nd Amendment.

One interesting confirmation is during the video clip there is an exchange between a blond woman and Chris. You will see her refer to her feeling and how the big black gun makes her feel uncomfortable. This is a classic example of how the liberal worldview is driven by emotions and not logic.

NEWS RELEASE: Bundgaard Snags Arpaio Endorsement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Adding to an endorsement list that already has Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas on it, former State Senator Scott Bundgaard has added the ultimate endorsement prize, Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Arpaio has been a long-time supporter of Bundgaard and they share a commitment to winning the fight against illegal immigration.

The LD4 Senate seat will be open as a result of term-limits. Bundgaard had held the seat prior to the election of current Senator Jack Harper, and he has spent the last eight years working in the private sector. A former top-ranked Friend of the Taxpayer, Bundgaard has promised to bring his pro-taxpayer, pro-family, pro-Constitution ideology back to the Legislature.

“I’m extremely grateful for the Sheriff’s endorsement and his offer of help. I plan to make the most of both!” said Bundgaard.

2nd Amendment Still In Effect in Phoenix

This news item off Breitbart.com. “Man carrying assault weapon attends Obama protest”

Although I will neither confirm nor deny the presence of an AR-15 in my household, I will confirm that I did not have one of these on my person at today’s protest.

The money quote in the news article was:

The man with the rifle declined to be identified but told The Arizona Republic that he was carrying the assault weapon because he could. “In Arizona, I still have some freedoms,” he said.

*******UPDATE ON THIS POST*******

The video of the man carrying the AR-15 without a doubt, shows the man standing among Obama supporters. In fact, as you can see in the photo below, someone behind him is wearing a SEIU t-shirt. The man was NOT with the conservative protesters but rather a member of the Pro-Obama protesters

And in yet another update, JD Hayworth’s show is reporting that the man carrying the AR-15 may indeed be a Libertarian member who decided to move amongst the Obama supporters.

Overheard at Today’s Rally: LA Ringers Ride In

by Gayle Plato

While standing in a shady spot, next to the Light Rail ramp, I met a lovely lady wearing the big O t-shirt, Obama’s campaign logo, carrying a Health Insurance Reform Now hand sign printed up by Organizing for America.  We smiled and after I complimented her great purse, she asked about places to eat in Phoenix. “Oh, you’re not from here,” I asked.

The lady went on to say she was from Los Angeles.  I said I was also at the rally up the block, and she noted my t-shirt for Smart Girl Politics.  She didn’t know of us and I said it is all about real feminism and getting women active in political action locally and nationally.  She was so thrilled.  When she asked if I came in from LA,  I said, no I rode a van here and that I’m from the area.

I asked, “Were you on that big bus there I see?” She explained that she and her two sisters came in as they wanted to meet President Obama and wanted to be at the VIP event today. It seemed that she and her sisters were encouraged to attend as they were to be VIPs and that only the dedicated true devotees were invited to ride in to Phoenix for the rally.

I recommended some good spots to eat,  and noted that I respected her passion for politics. Just then, a friend saw me, gave me a hug with a large NObamacare sign in her hand.  We talked and the Light Rail started pulling up by the shade spot I copped.  Mrs. O-shirt glared, she asked: ” What exactly is Smart Girl Politics?  Didn’t you say you’re a feminist? ”

I am!  I believe in women standing up for and loving our families, our individual freedoms, and limited government.  I believe in the original feminists who stood up as moms and smart women wanting the vote and the right to be equally heard.”

Okay, I have the lil speech memorized as I say it often, to lots of women, and I am certain of my conviction.   I liked this gal and I knew we agreed on shoes and bags.  Nonetheless, she felt I had lied to her.  I could tell.  I never said I was supporting her cause of Obama’s socialization of programs. I just wanted to get out of the heat!   Correct me if I am wrong,  I paid for the Light Rail too thank you!  I can lean on it all I want.  I even decided to ride it a way and listen in to the rhetoric of the crowd.

After riding to Central and Camelback, and I paid for a pass, none of them seemed to have stubs. I asked where all were from.  Easily 75% of the protesters, all liberals, were from out of state.  At least two groups of bus-riders, and many smaller caravans came in today.   All asked about the SGP shirt, much like Mrs. O.  I said the same things, rising up to scoot off at Camelback, and wish them all well.  As I stood to go, I heard one say, “Is she a Republican?”

I turned, holding on to the bar, ” You bet I am, and I live in Arizona, I paid for this train you’re riding on too.  [ Doors opened as I got off I finished my thought] Enjoy the Valley of the Sun and try not to get burned!”

For Wonks, Election 2010 has already begun!

BARTON ANNOUNCES BID FOR AZ LEGISLATURE DISTRICT 5

SAFFORD, AUGUST 12, 2009: Surrounded by her hometown friends, Brenda Barton officially
announced her candidacy for the Arizona State Legislature from District 5. Brenda is seeking the seat that will be vacated by Bill Konopnicki who is term limited. When asked about Bill, Brenda replied, “I’ll have some big shoes to fill.”

Brenda, a fifth generation Arizonian who’s family established Lee’s Valley in 1879, is no stranger to the issues or politics. She has worked the trenches as precinct committeemen, gathered candidate nomination signatures, and served for many years as an officer of the Graham County Republican Women.

Additionally Brenda has been nominated for her second term as Region Three Director of the Arizona Federation of Republican Woman. She is a graduate of the Leadership Institute, and most recently graduated from the Dodie Londen Excellence in Public Service Series. In 2008 she was elected an alternate delegate to the Arizona Republican State Convention, and was surprised when she was moved up to voting delegate. The district native enjoys a state wide network of political associates covering the spectrum from conservative to moderate in political views.

“There is no one-size-fits-all Republican. We are all Republicans. It is from our diversity and
respect for each other that we draw our strength.” (Brenda Barton 2007)

Crashin’ the Move On Party

My good friend, Rachel Alexander of Intellectual Conservative – who by the way was awarded 2009 Activist of the Year by RightOnline – was able to crash the MoveOn.org Networks Convention party on Friday. She’s got an excellent photo essay of her “visit” online at IntellectualConservative.com

Great Job Rachel!

Protest Obama’s Healthcare – This Monday!

Stand Up for Health Care Freedom – Monday, August 17

Wake Up! Obama is Coming!

This is Your Big Chance to STOP Nationalized Health Care.

The Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity is joining allied Tea Party organizations this coming Monday, August 17th, at 7 am, for a protest in downtown Phoenix at the corner of Adams and 2nd Street, outside the Phoenix Convention Center.

President Barack Obama will address the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the Phoenix Convention Center that morning. We need to assemble peacefully outside the Convention Center and protest Obama, Congress, and the big insurance and drug companies who are supporting the Obama-Pelosi plan. We need to send them the following message:

HANDS OFF OUR HEALTH CARE!

Paid parking is available in lots all around the Convention Center. We strongly suggest arriving downtown by 6:00 am to park and walk to the rally point at Adams and 2nd Streets. Those Tea Partiers who need to get to work to pay taxes and support their families should arrive early, park in a farther lot (such as the one at Washington and 5th Street) and depart by about 8:00 am to go to work. The rest of us will stay until 9 am or later, if necessary. Please bring water and sunscreen/umbrella. Optional: blue balloons, medical smocks, and signs with large letters. (You guys come up with great signs, but some sign ideas are pasted below.)

KFYI radio is going to broadcast live from Tom’s Tavern, at the NE corner of Washington and Central. Coincidentally, the NE corner of Washington and Central is also where the pro-Obama group, Organizing for America, is planning to congregate… The AFP rally point is just around the corner, at Adams and 2nd, a five-minute walk from Tom’s Tavern.

Draft Dean Martin effort begins

Le Templar over at the East Valley Tribune posted an editorial on the possibility State Treasurer Dean Martin would jump into the Governor’s race to challenge Jan Brewer.

“Martin could run for Governor, but will he?”

Apparently, someone has already begun a draft Dean Martin effort by putting up a website which even includes a poll. The website, DraftDeanMartin4Governor.com, only includes an opinion piece by Arizona Republic political writer, Matthew Benson.

We’re not sure who put the website up but it doesn’t matter anyway because Martin is smart and savvy enough not to make such statements and then withdraw such a consideration.

It is very clear, Dean Martin will get into the Governor’s race and he will be a top-tiered candidate in an already crowded field of barely-knowns and unknowns.

Things are beginning to move pretty fast and furious as we head into fall. Such a major announcement by Martin will prompt other candidates considering a run to get anxiety about making their own announcement to get their name into circulation and capture part of the political market share. GOP operative/activist John Munger has been in political circulation for months attempting to rack up market share through his work with Imagine Arizona. He is clearly waiting in the wings for that opportune moment. And there are others painstakingly analyzing the details of a potential run. Timing is everything and any such announcement would need to be dropped without the possibility of being overshadowed by another candidate.

An announcement by Dean Martin will clear the field substantially from other potential top-tiered candidates like Ken Bennett, Mary Peters or JD Hayworth. Martin’s continual warnings about the financial health of the State has bought him some political capital and gravitas over the last 18 months. As State Treasurer, he’s been constitutionally held back from taking any action to solve the State’s budget woes and setting a new financial agenda. Entering the race for Governor will allow him to cast his vision for the State of Arizona. But even more significant, the voters will see Dean Martin as a man on a mission and that makes him extremely formidible in the race for Governor

10 Questions to Ask at Healthcare Town Hall Meetings

I’m saying this right up front, full credit for the following goes to Robert Wenzel, editor and publisher of the Economic Policy Journal.  To read it at his website, the link is provided.  These questions are based on material provided by three individuals, who unlike the Organizer-in-Chief or the Speaker of the House, have actually bothered to read the pages of the legislation.

The following questions were written by Robert Wenzel

He was assisted though the truly Herculean reading of the 1,000 plus page healthcare document by Peter Fleckstein, and also Russell Wilcox.

When history books for this era are written, both these men’s names should go down as heroes, for letting the public know what this so called, “healthcare” bill is really all about.

Question 1: Who actually wrote this bill? Congressman can you get us the names of the people that wrote this bill, so that we can understand their views on healthcare?

Question 2: If this bill is only about getting the poor insurance, why will the Secretary of Health as opposed to my doctor determine if I should be re-admitted to a hospital, as outlined on pages 284-288, SEC. 1151?

Question 3: Why, if I am happy with the type of health insurance I have, can you force me to get different insurance as outlined in pages 167-168, section 401 or force me to pay a penalty tax?

Question 4: Why is a simple catastrophic health insurance not allowed under this plan, when that is really what insurance should be about? Is this really happening in America? I reference pages 26-30, SEC. 122.

Question 5: Why will the Health Secretary have full say over all health payments as outlined on page 124, Sec. 223? Isn’t this against the free market system and more in line with the thinking of Mussolini?

Question 6: Why does the healthcare bill on pages 195-196, SEC. 431 and on page 145, section 312 open up my tax information to federal employees, and force my employer to supply any information asked of him by the Health Choices Commissioner, the Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the Secretary of the Treasury?

Question 7: Why MUST any Doctor who orders durable medical equipment or home medical services be enrolled as a Medicare provider , as outlined on pages 719-720 Sec 1637?

Question 8: What are these so called home visitation programs by the government for families with young children & families expecting children, as outlined on pages 838-845?

Question 9: On page 936, this bill mentions a “Healthy People & National Public Health Performance Standards”. Does this mean you are going to try and tell me what I can and can’t eat? Are you going to force manufacturers to stop making some foods?

Question 10: Most of the Healthcare Bill has little to do with providing health insurance to the poor, and a lot to do with controlling everyone. Why is this so? If I am happy with my health insurance why don’t you just leave me alone?

the president There are 3 recent postings on this topic I have provided you the reader; the first on the duplicity of the Whitehouse in putting out a “snitch” line to stifle freedom of speech, the second on the actual intent of this monstrous legislation, and finally this piece, specific questions to ask Gabby Giffords, Raul Grijalva, Ed Pastor, and Ann Kirtpatrick.  (Look over your shoulder Ann, Bill Konopnicki is coming for your job)

Russell Pearce responds to those skeptical about the drop in crime and illegal immigration

YOU WANT AN EXAMPLE OF ANOTHER JURISDICTION AND THE RESULT OF ENFORCEMENT? Here is another jurisdiction that took a zero tolerance to those in this country illegally. Prince William County announced that violent crimes decreased by a whopping 22% in 2007, demonstrating once again the value of protecting the quality of life by having local law enforcement participate in efforts to reduce the number of illegal aliens unlawfully present in our communities. The previous year, more than half of all murders in the county were committed by illegal aliens. By encouraging illegal aliens to depart, and ensuring that those who do not and are arrested for state and local crimes are turned over to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation, we’ve addressed to some degree an important public safety issue that few states and localities have the courage to even consider, much to the detriment of their own residents.

I cannot believe what I am reading on those defending “illegal” aliens and ignoring the facts. Why are some ignoring the deaths, maimings, rapes and billions in cost? Is it Profits over Patriotism? Political power that comes to the left? Are the deaths, maimings, rapes, molestations of our children and billions in cost just collateral damage for the open border or cheap labor advocates?

Just recently “Chief” Harris of Phoenix PD held a Press Conference about the reduction in crime and stated he did not know why it was down. It does not take a high IQ to know why. With employer sanctions, Sheriff enforcing the law, along with the economy 30% have left Arizona.

I wonder why Phoenix is 2nd in the world in kidnappings only behind Mexico City. I can tell you that if you’re the victim of an illegal alien, statistics don’t mean much. If it is you or your the family member, like the family of Officer Erfle who was murdered when an illegal alien was released instead of being deported, or the family of Officer Figueroa who was killed by an illegal alien or Bob Miller who lost his son, and the list goes on.

You want to hear from some real victims of Sanctuary Cities, the hurt, the pain, please go to this web site and watch. http://www.investigativecommunications.com/

Citizens have a constitutional right to expect the protection of federal and state laws which prohibit unauthorized activities by non-citizens and are denied equal protection law enforcement, police departments or a magistrate fails to enforce those laws.

You ought to be concerned about the cost to Arizona taxpayers in the cost to medicate, incarcerate and educate illegals ($1 billion annually in K-12 alone). You ought to be concerned about the deaths, maimings, rapes, kidnappings, home invasions, not to mention jobs taken from Americans and wages suppressed.

The issue has been debated many times. What part of the Rule of Law, Citizens Constitutional rights, the Oath of Office, or the Constitution do you not agree with?

We held a hearing in Judiciary Committee on Warrants, who’s job is it? What we should have held hearings on is Sanctuary Cities; the greatest threat to safe neighborhoods and billions in cost to the taxpayer. Not to mention in violation of federal law!! Mayors and Police Chiefs that encourage or have policies that restrict the enforcement of immigration laws are complicit in the deaths, maimings of citizens and police officers and the billions in cost to the taxpayers. I did hold hearings in Appropriations and had victims, law enforcement officers, Sheriff Joe, Sheriff Babeu, Maricopa County Attorney, by video Congressman King, and Victims of 9-11 families, and others in an ALL DAY hearing. The other side was invited and refused to come and give public testimony on their support of sanctuary policies and their trip to testify before congress as part of the Al Sharpton fan club. I will be glad to provide the video to anyone who cares enough to ask, as they did not bother to attend and hear from law enforcement and victims directly about the impact of this illegal alien invasion. (over 8 hours of testimony)

How many more have do die, or how many more in billions of dollars cost to the taxpayer before we stop all sanctuary policies??????????? I PLEDGE TO CONTINUE UNTIL THESE “ILLEGAL” POLICES ARE ABOLISHED; IF WE WILL ELIMINATE ALL SANCTUARY POLICIES IN THIS STATE, THE RESULT WILL BE LESS CRIME, LOWER TAXES.

Endorsements: 75% to 80% of Arizonans, Arizona State Republican Party, Maricopa County Republican Party, Sheriff Joe, Sheriff Babeu, County Attorney Andrew Thomas, Arizona African American Club, Albert Rodriguez of a national Hispanic group “You Don’t Speak For Me”, Anna Gains a Hispanic and her group of “American Citizen’s United”, NAILEM a neighborhood group of several thousand, Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (2600 officers), Border Patrol 2544 (over 3500 Arizona border patrol officers, several other law enforcement groups that support but have not taken official action. Enforce our laws and put America and Americans First.

Unsanctioned entry into the United States is a crime.

8 USC Sec. 1644: (“No local ordinance, rule, or measure shall stop law enforcement officers from enforcement of this section”) Referring to immigration violations.

I sat ashen as I watched the news reports. Several chiefs of police, including Phoenix’s Jack Harris and Mesa’s Gascon, stood at a Press Conference and publicly refused to enforce the law. Less than a month after the brutal murder of a police officer at the hands of an illegal alien, they snub the opportunity to make necessary changes, all for the sake of political correctness, while citizens are killed, maimed, raped, the cost to educate, medicate and incarcerate are in the billions for Arizona, plus, jobs taken from Americans.

9-11 Terrorist Attack: Had our immigration laws been enforced 9-11 probably would have been averted. 4 of the 5 organizers and pilots had been contacted by law enforcement prior to the attack (one still had the ticket in the glove box of his car at the airport), and had they been arrested on immigration violations, 9-11 probably would have been prevented!!

When is enough, enough??? DEATH & MAIMINGS OF POLICE OFFICERS & CITIZENS BY ILLEGAL ALIENS: http://www.investigativecommunications.com/

Enforcement by our law enforcement officers, removing the policies that restrict their ability to ask and act (a sanctuary policy is simply placing restrictions of enforcing our laws). Removing those restrictions would have the greatest affect on public safety of all the legislation we have passed to date.

Arizona: Dept of Justice and FBI reports:

Phoenix, #2 in the world in kidnappings, home invasions

Phoenix, 3rd most violent city in America

Phoenix #1 in crime overall

Arizona the home invasion, car jacking, identity theft capitol of the world

#2 in auto theft

1/3 of federal prisoners are illegal aliens for serious crimes

Over $1 billion annual cost for illegals in K-12

Drugs

1 million gang members in the U.S. mostly made up of illegal aliens

1 million sex crime victims by illegal aliens

If you want loser taxes, less crime, smaller classrooms, short emergency room lines and safer neighborhoods ENFORCE IMMIGRATION LAWS.

“If it be asked, what is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic? The answer would be an inviolable respect for the Constitution and Laws” - Alexander Hamilton.

A Congressional Report: CONFIRMING THE THREAT AT THE SOUTHWEST BORDER; on crime, violence, drugs, gangs, terrorist, sex predators coming into America among the 4 million to 10 million entering illegally ANNUALLY!!!! Over 9,000 people killed in the U.S. each year at the hands of illegal aliens; 25 each day, 12 by stabbings and shootings & 13 by DUI or other vehicular crimes.

Study: 1 million sex crimes by illegals; More than 100 sex offenders crossing border daily Deborah Schurman-Kauflin: Based on a one-year in-depth study, a researcher estimates there are about 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders in the United States who have had an average of four victims each.

5,000 to 10,000 cross illegally into the U.S. every single day, and 1 out of 10 already have felony convictions.

WHY DO WE STRUGGLE WITH WHAT IS RIGHT? Another Police Officer killed by an illegal alien. Officer Shane Figueroa. I have introduced 5 years in a row legislation to allow Police Officers to enforce our laws and remove the political handcuffs placed on them by our local politicians and chiefs. Our citizens deserve no less, our law enforcement have the authority, and must allow them to do their job.

My personal background in law enforcement has given me a unique and in-touch perspective with the needs and hazards experienced by rank-and-file police officers. PLEA understands the danger of ignoring illegal immigration. The burden of blind-eye police department policies and open-border philosophies were paid for with the lives of not only law enforcement officers, but many other good citizens as the danger clearly spread beyond law enforcement into our communities with more lives being lost. The quality of life in our state is being sacrificed for political correctness. Phoenix Law Enforcement Officers, PLEA, Border Patrol and I stand side by side for the rule of law.

MARK SPENCER President of P.L.E.A., “Mark my words another police officer will be killed as a result of Mayor Gordon’s pretended revision of their policy on when you can ask and when you cannot ask on one’s immigration status. ANOTHER POLICE OFFICER, HUSBAND, FATHER, AMERICAN KILLED BY AN ILLEGAL ALIEN. GOVERNMENT IS COMPLICIT IN THE DEATHS, MAIMINGS AND BILLIONS IN COST TO OUR CITIZENS.

Simply enforce our laws and you will see less crime, lower taxes, smaller class sizes, shorter lines in our emergency rooms and reduced deaths, murders, maimings, drugs, home invasions, car jackings, kidnappings, jobs taken from Americans, reduced wages, an ultimately save the taxpayer billions of dollars. We cannot afford to “NOT” enforce our laws.

Attrition by Enforcement.

THIS IS THE “ONLY” LAW WE PUT CONDITIONS ON BEFORE A POLICE OFFICER CAN ENFORCE, THE ONLY CRIMINALS WE PROTECT BY POLICIES!!!!!!! NO OTHER CRIME OR CRIMINAL GETS THIS PROTECTION BY RESTRICTIVE POLICIES BY OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS.

I PLEDGE; TO WORK TO ELIMINATE ALL SANCTUARY POLICIES IN THIS STATE, THE RESULT WILL BE LESS CRIME, LOWER TAXES & SAFER NEIGHBORHOODS.

Our local & national leader’s refusal to enforce U.S. Immigration laws & failure to carry out their constitutional duty to defend this nation from that invasion is guilty of impeachable offenses.

We are sowing the seeds of our own destruction in America today.

I believe in our Constitution, the rule of law, in liberty & freedom. I will not retreat from the defense of our Republic or the protection of our citizens from our enemies foreign or domestic!!!

Introducing Bradley Beauchamp for CD-1

There are only a few Republican politicians here in Arizona who I think are both principled and entertaining – Senator Jim Waring, Senator Ron Gould and Representative Frank Antenori come immediately to mind.

Let me introduce you to Bradley Beauchamp a small town attorney from Globe Arizona.

Bradley is running for Congressional District 1 to replace liberal Democrat, Ann Kirkpatrick. He’s the real deal and he’s funny. But don’t let his sense of humor dissuade you from taking him seriously. He’s on a mission to take back CD-1 from the liberal Democratic special interest groups and return it to rural Arizonans.

But don’t let me try to convince you. Take a look at these series of video clips where he recently met with a group of citizens in Show Low Arizona. You’ll laugh and cry.

GNMA: Ginnie Ginnie, Who Can I Turn To?

by Gayle Plato

“Ginnie Ginnie, who can I turn to
you give me something I can hold on to–
now you think I’m like the others before
who saw you name and number on the wall”

Okay I took license with the gal’s name, but do you know ol‘ song from Tommy Tutone?  Seems that Ginnie Mae’s got a number of loans secured and is trying to sell the bundles of joy overseas again. Just what we need in Arizona- more mortgage implosion.  This lending isn’t news, but the growing defaults are.  Mortgage crises continue in spite of all cheery recovery chatter; see the proof as the state budget nightmare is now a waking dream and nobody knows what to do.  While the obvious overspending got us here, it is the lack of revenue that will also drive the state right into insolvency. Arizona cannot pretend the property is as rich as it was three to five years ago. We cannot keep assuming the market will come right back either.  Especially since it seems the lending practices in this country are still very sub-prime.

Ginnie Mae is the Government National Mortgage Association. Designed to help Federal Housing Administration (FHA/HUD) loans get to market, the government mortgage backing entity GNMA, repackages loans as mortgage-backed securities. Now the shell game of mortgages and financing is facing another bubble burst.  We are STILL seeing shaky loans up to 125% of value, modifications that leave the home owner on the hook, and tons of mortgage-backed securities built up on air instead of collaterally secured equity.

”Ginnie Mae’s mortgage exposure is expected to top $1 trillion by the end of next year—or far more than double the dollar amount of 2007. ”
Karl Denninger, a nationally acclaimed market analyst stated this on Monday:

“First you (the government, who is supposed to PROTECT people against predatory scams and frauds) let the banksters literally STEAL people’s hopes, dreams, and money by preying on them with knowingly-toxic exploding loans that they knew in advance would NEVER lead to those Americans owning their own home free and clear.  These loans came in the form of 2/28s and 3/27s for “less fortunate” borrowers, crafted for the singular purpose of turning a free US Citizen into a perpetually enslaved debtor who would never own a damn thing except a payment book.”

Um, can you say BAILOUT?  There is a reason why the country is revolting at these town halls.  Ginnie’s number is on the wall, and this next bailout  will cost what? Will it push the trillions owed upwards to, wait don’t tell me: 8,675,309?
