Are you willing to continue paying one of the largest sums of our budget for the defense industry? If so, why that and not a fraction of that to pay for insuring those who cannot afford it or who are not allowed insurance because it isn’t profitable for companies?

You DO want to pay for govt Tom…but govt at a much higher cost and to fight wars in foreign lands…that is…if you are a good republican.

Exactly…those other countries you talk about Todd are beating us in just about everything now too. Quality of life, education, health, the works. If this list is truly patriotic and America first then how can you support this philosophy which puts us in a position of no longer being the great leader of the world that we once were.

It will take govt expenditures to educate our youth, have a healthy country, a safe one, and the like.

On safety, our cops are down to below 1.9 per 1000 people …below the national average of 3. Cops are govt. folks…and they needed. Just like teachers, social workers, and yes, administrators.

Unfortunately, there might be higher taxes for a plan that, as far as I can see, has a decent chance of not doing anything about costs and simply further filling the coffers of insurance companies. I’m sure this isn’t what you mean by a crazy idea but rather “government run health care” which all Western countries besides the US provide. Too bad that is not what we are going to get.

And you know Tom, if you make over $350K, I suspect you will be paying more taxes. It galls me to think that the paltry amount that average people pay for the service they get…just doesn’t stick for them… A reasonable amount of govt. infrastructure is necessary for competitiveness. You know it, I know it. We just disagree on what is reasonable.

None of my comments were the least bit silly. It simply exposes what a corporate sponsored ruse this is. And yes, it WOULD matter to a lot of good Americans who are interested in this movement to know that it is decidedly NOT bipartisan, decidedly not “anti corporate” or “Wall Street” as some believe and that they are essentially being used to perpetuate the poor healthcare system that we have now…and that allows those with insurance to get and those without to not.

I wont even go into the false rhetoric that is being used.

Last, I enjoy this blog. Sorry if that offends you. Ignore me if you like, but I think it is sometimes useful to have someone at least give a different perspective…and…I suspect sometimes there are a few on here that might even listen.

And yes, it is a bit fun to point out your hypocrisy as much as it is fun for you to do so with Dems.

I’m not defending what is in or what isn’t in the press release. My comments have been focused exclusively on your liberal friend’s silly comments. Who would you have these groups have on their boards of directors? I know its tough for the left to believe, but the majority of people don’t want to pay higher taxes for these crazy ideas.

Interesting Tom, maybe you can point out to everyone where kral suggests people should have there speech censored or be banned from forming political associations. Pointing out who is behind something or who funds it is hardly an effort to repress speech unless you believe anyone who disagrees with you is trying to silence you. Persecution complex?

Speaking of not responding, how about explaining why the press release talks about Canadian or British style health care systems which are not even being considered in Congress. Or how about explaining the cognitive dissonance of referring to protecting our grandmothers who are already in a government run health care system.

One other thing. You are right, I DON’T want to pay more in taxes for Nationalize healthcare and I suspect most people don’t either.

What could possibly make you think that your incessant rantings tinged with class warfare and anti-corporate rhetoric would fly on a blog like this.

Every time you get worked up, you post your lefty clap trap and then one of your liberal friends – in this case “Todd” chimes in to support you. Do you ever realize that everyone else pretty much thinks you are a liberal kook?

My question is – what’s the end game? Are you on a quixotic battle to convert conservatives? Or perhaps you think it’s funny to show how “liberal” you are on a conservative blog? Or perhaps you just don’t have anything better to do?

I mean, come on, on this thread alone, you made seven posts in less than 40 minutes. Maybe that’s why you can’t afford health insurance?

Cant argue against what I have posted. Its OK that corporate funders and wealthy americans fund and orchestrate the tea parties. That is America. But thought that some of you who have a more “revolutionary” streak in you might like to know that you are joining a group that is about promoting and protecting the very corporate establishment that many of you are railing against.

Gimmee a break! Kral and Todd, the country is heading to hell in a handbasket. It’s been heading that way for a long time. It looks like the only way it will be corrected is if the system in overwhelmed and completely collapses and the American people can rebuild it back into a constitutional Republic with limited government.
