We don’t like Obama, but this isn’t right. For all their political correctness, the mainstream media portrays Obama in a political cartoon resembling a monkey? Where is the outrage? This ran in the West Valley View this week.

What monkey? I am not seeing it.
They always portrayed President Bush as a monkey, so what’s the difference?
The face, the ears and the TAIL!

I don’t see a tail, I see the end of the rope.
The man has large ears, so he should expect to see that in cartoons. Don’t see the tail either. I see rope.
That said, if you were looking for monkey, I can see how you would see monkey. If you weren’t, you probably didn’t.
Bush wasn’t portrayed as a monkey, he was always a chimp.

You can explain away the ears and the rope, but the mouth/jaw area is clearly drawn to resemble a chimpanzee – pathetic.
REGARDLESS OF WHAT IT SHOULD REPRESENT…THIS COUNTRY IS JUST DOWN-RIGHT DISRESPECTFUL OF ALL IT’S PRESIDENTS. DON’T THINK FOR A MOMENT THAT PREJUDICE IS DEAD. THAT OLD JIM CROW IS STILL ALIVE AND WELL. THE SAME REASON THE BLACK ATHLETE, JONES HAD HER METALS TAKEN FROM HER FOR USING DRUGS THAT CONTAINED STERIODS..A MISTAKE AND THE WHITE SWIMMER DID NOT, WHO WAS CLEARLY SMOKING POT IN PUBLIC. SO WHY IS EVERYONE SO SHOCKED.

As a colored myself, I would say he looks more like a chimp than a monkey. Monkeys are better looking.
Since when do monkey’s carry rope? I thought they could climb just fine. Is that monkey wearing Sherpa pants? His legs must get cold easily. Is that monkey near a volcano? They live near volcanoes? Well I guess human population growth has pushed some species into new areas. Is that monkey eating a banana on a stick? Man, what a picky eater. Does that monkey have a mohawk? I think he is making a statement. Oh wait. It is not a monkey. It is our President. Whom I voted for. Is he standing tall and facing a mountain of expectations? Good for him. Is that an allusion to a MLK speech? Yes, in fact I believe so. Is he wearing Sherpa pants, a reference to somoeone who leads the way. Damn right. Climbers ax? Artist even knew Obama was a lefty. Is this in fact a work of art that is left up to every individual’s perception? Well I guess so, but all I know is that I know the difference between a monkey and a man. Do you?

I find it fascinating and disturbing that everyone gets their dandruff up when someone makes a potential bad remark or makes a joke about the mighty OBama. I can not stand the man and resent the comments he had made on his World Apology Tour but I got to be honest. I do not see a damn monkey in this picture. My first impression of this cartoon is a positive image for Obama. He has a lot on his plate and he now has to walk the talk now that the “Hope and Change” campaign is over. In the cartoon, he is ready to tackle his job. Again, I do not agree with his policies and can’t stand the man but this is what I see at this picture. People need to ask themselves when they make this monkey claims, “do you see the glass half empty or half full?’
