Someone set up a blog site attacking Shadegg for his new position in support of the Bailout “Rescue” Plan. The question arises was the site set up by a Democrat operative seeking to weaken GOP support for Shadegg or someone from the Bob Lord campaign. It is also possible that someone from the conservative base of the GOP had finally had enough. Shadegg slipped some with the base when he openly supported Fife Symington in the late 2007 attempt to unseat Rob Haney as Chairman of LD 11. There was no need for Shadegg to insert himself into an LD election but he got involved anyway. Since that time Shadegg has made other moves that have displeased certain conservative. Up until now Shadegg has always come through when votes were being counted in the House of Representative and has a very conservative record. Up until now.
All indications are the Shadegg will join the Democrats on Friday morning in voting for the bailout. If that will have any effect on his election in CD 3 we don’t know. Certainly it will diminish his conservative credentials a little more.
If the anti-Shadegg blog was put up by the Democrats it may backfire in CD 8, where it looks like Giffords is set to vote for the revised bailout. If the new Shadegg site is done by Republicans, especially if they are from CD 3, then his race may end up being closer than he would like it to be.

It takes a lot of guts to swim against the conservative current that so nicely helped you arrive at your Congressional destination.
The truth here is that John must move to the left to get elected, simple as that. What is the alternative ? Bob Lord. Get real.
So I’m confused. Clearly, a majority of congressional Democrats are supporting the “rescue plan” but why is Moveon.Org running ads against McCain criticizing the plan as benefitting only Wall Street fat cats? It seems pretty clear that NO BODY really likes this thing but they are being forced by circumstance and fear to pass it.

I have emailed and received a response from Shadegg’s office about this bailout. They report that the overwhelming response was for him to vote “yes” today, not my choice, though. I asked for a “no” vote. If he is doing what his constituents want, then he is doing a good job for all of us. Am I happy…no, but then it looks like I’m not in the majority. I will vote to re-elect him.
OH really? Overwhelming yes? I wonder if the same number of calls went to Flake? Franks? Etc.
I suspect that if Shaddegg got an overwhelming number of yes’s….IF…then so did they…and I guess either they had the courage to vote a “profile in courage” or they don’t care much about their constituents.
OR…Shaddegg is playing fast and loose.
How many of you called Shaddegg to beg him to vote for the bailout…seriously…pipe up!
#4 – There is absolutely no way Shadegg’s office received an “overwhelming” number of calls urging a yes vote. It would be the first time Shadegg or his staff lied to constituents.
It’s quite likely that this site was set up by a Jeff Flake supporter as part of the ongoing efforts to shape the eventual race when Sen. McCain’s seat comes open. Whether this year because of the Presidential election or some time in the future, this political tap dance is a neverending show.
It is quite likely a Flake supporter. It’s certainly not a Lord supporter. You can tell by the emphasis on limited government and sticking to principles despite what the Washington, D.C. cocktail party has to say. Rep. Flake doesn’t care about their approval.
Has anyone noticed the Jeff Flake ads all over Drudge and RCP lately? Why would a cake-walk CD candidate need to spend big $ on those sites?
Or, it could be since the McHaters have had to swallow their pride they have just found another place to spew their venom?
Flake is doing what he should do.
And that blog just unloaded on Shadegg and his speeding tickets.
How interesting. A website that calls a respected and dedicated public servant “gutless” has the audacity to throw out allegations while hiding behind the anonymity of a blog site, with no comments allowed no less. Man up or shut up. There might be some gutless actions going on around here but it sure ain’t coming from Shadegg.
Obviously the poster above is in on the scam. Loser.
Anyone who has spent time around this character can easily conclude that he’s a petty, petulant, arrogant jerk. He has the maturity of a 10-year-old. His temper tantrums are fun to watch, though.
No doubt an LD 11, home of the only person protecting us all from sure demise and communist rule, minion is behind this.
Here’s a guy who is so cheap he sleeps on the couch in his office when he’s in Washington. But when it comes to forking over $700 billion to the unelected Secretary of the Treasury, that’s not an area for fiscal restraint.
