That was my point Sam. Basha and Johnson aren't really Democrats. I don't think either is still a registered Democrat, and I think they only ran as Democrats because the Republicans already had candidates

This is Brock's legacy:

1. He raised your taxes. If you don't believe me, look at your tax bills. The line on my tax bill for the county went up a lot. True, the county did not raise the rate. It didn't need to. Valuations went up. Brock and the other supervisors should have dropped the rate enough to keep the bill the same. They didn't and therefore raised your taxes.

2. He's a big spender. The County's budget is out of whack. Why? Brock and his fellow supervisors spent too much when times were good. Memo to Brock: Good times don't last forever. Don't overspend when money rolls in, because you'll have to cut when money dries up.

3. He and the other board members are scared of the sheriff and let him run wild. The sheriff has cost us millions in lawsuits or settlements, because he's a bloviating gas bag who covers up his incompetence with publicity stunts, like his swat-team raid on Dr. Dowling's house. Lawyer Michael Manning has made a fortune out of Arpaio's hide, and you and I pay for it. A good supervisor would have laid down the law to the old fool posing as the "toughest sheriff," while crime runs rampant in this county and warrants go unserved.

4. He stood by while Stapley tried to ruin Dr. Dowling, and the County spent millions on lawyer fees to close Pappas schools. You have to ask, for what? Many say to get the property the school sat on in downtown Phoenix. Time will tell. At any rate, he and his fellow supervisors have it on their hands that they destroyed this school that for 20 years had been helping truly the least of us -- homeless kids who literally had nothing. Besides an education, the school gave them two hot meals and a take-home box for dinner. They got a shower in the morning and antiseptic shampoo for lice. They got clothes, and shoes -- all donated. Doctors and nurses gave them medical attention if they needed it, and dentists donated their time to fix their teeth. Brock and his fellow board members broke this school. Sure, the homeless kids can go elsewhere. They'll get picked on and beat up because they're different. Kids can be cruel to other kids. Brock needs to answer for what he did to these kids. That alone is reason to throw him out.

With this record, why would anyone vote to put him back in office?

Those darn Dinos...I guess the Democrats will have to give back all that Bashas' money.....

You wish, guys, you wish.

PS- Atticus, if you look back you'll see that Eddie Basha endorsed Jane Dee Hull for governor.

Let's see.

As chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Fulton Brock presided over the closing of the Pappas School for Homeless Children. Very special.

As chairman of the Board of Supervisors, he appointed an interim board for the County Schools that gave a $175,000 annual salary to a superintendent to run the jail schools for less than 350 students. But, helped cut off the money flow so teachers couldn't be paid.

As chairman of the Board of Supervisors, he led the charge to give away the land where the school for the little homeless children for, what else, development.

As chairman of the Board of Supervisors, he led the efforts, along with Don Stapley, to drum-up fake charges against Sandra Dowling in an attempt to grab the land where the homeless school used to be.

As chairman of the Board of Supervisors, he tried to take over the Treasurer's Office through the appointment process.

As chairman . . . well, you get the picture.

Supported by Dems. Of course. What a surprise. The people in power working together? How novel.

This was a press release sent to Sonoran Alliance for the posting. Doesn't mean we condemn nor condone what's written. You get to give your two cents. Have at it.

"Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock may be a Republican, but two former nominees for Governor are endorsing his re-election as Maricopa County Supervisor."

Why is it unusual for former nominees for Governor to endorse Republicans? Doesn't that happen all the time?

OHHHHH. Jason left out the work DEMOCRAT. I hope this doesn't have anything to do with those sweet land deals that Johnson gets (you can read about them on Espresso Pundit).

Oh well, I actually like Brock anyway, so this won't change that.

I think the only Democrats Basha and Johnson ever supported were themselves, and even that is a stretch.
