pho·ny : false or deceiving; not truthful; concocted: a phony explanation.

It appears that Tony “the Phony” Bouie has been caught in a lie. In two recent appearances he has claimed that he was originally a registered Democrat, but then he registered as a Republican in the 1990′s in Hillsborough County, Florida. He then claims he registered Democrat when he moved to Arizona in 2001. And finally, he says he registered Republican when he decided to run for State Representative in District 6.
Well, a search of the elections office records in Florida turns up no Republican registration for Tony V. Bouie. It does show he was registered as a Democrat from 1996-1999. However, even this contradicts Tony the Phony’s own statement that he registered Republican right after he got his first NFL paycheck and realized how much money was taken out in taxes. He made this statement in front of the Arizona Republic editorial board on August 14, 2008.
To add to the mystery, Tony the Phony even announced at a public forum on August 12, 2008, that his opponent (Carl Seel) was wrong when he claimed Bouie had been a registered Democrat his whole life until he decided to run for office. In fact, said Tony the Phony, he had previously been a Republican for 9 years. Really?! We would love to see proof of that. Now he’s come out and admitted he wasn’t telling the truth in a press release. Bet the Republic isn’t too happy to hear they were duped. Nor are District 6 voters.
And finally, if Tony the Phony was ever a Republican, it is interesting that he never mentioned that fact to State Representative Sam Crump, who asked Bouie on April 25, 2008, why he had been a life-long Democrat until he decided to run for office. Tony the Phony’s response at that time was, “As an African-American I just registered the way my parents did and the way most blacks do.”
Now, those who would like to see fewer conservatives in the Legislature are resorting to the race card. We’ve seen it in Russell Pearce’s race and now we are seeing it in Sam Crump’s race. The Yellow Sheet gossip rag recently reported quoted an anonymous “insider” who said that many Republicans are questioning why Crump has not endorsed challenger Tony Bouie over Carl Seel. The insider says that everyone seems to be endorsing Bouie except Crump, which raises concerns that Crump’s non-endorsement is racially motivated. Now there’s a stretch.

Besides failing to acknowledge Crump’s tireless efforts in time and money on behalf of his orphanage in Uganda, the Yellow Sheet’s investigative efforts didn’t bother to report that Crump had already told the YS that he doesn’t support Bouie because Bouie is not a reliable conservative Republican. Bouie stated just a few months ago that he didn’t know whether he supported employer sanctions, and now that he has been coached by Chris Baker, Bouie has seen the light and embraces employer sanctions. Bouie has refused to sign the No New Taxes pledge but claims he is against higher taxes. Bouie is in favor of affirmative action, granting special preferences for businesses owned by minorities and women. And finally, Bouie has two separate positions on abortion. No wonder Crump sees that Bouie is really Tony The Phony!

Pat, thank you. I appreciate all you do for us. Your work on this is right on. Bouie is a liar and needs to go back to the Democrats or seek repentance and drop-out until he can rightfully earn his spot on the ballot as a Republican in deed as well as recent name.
But,to call Sam Crump a racist, even by implication, is so beneath contempt that I am now angry. I will spent every waking moment working on Bouie’s defeat and the election of Sam Crump and Carl Seel.
That Yellow Sheet is part of the liberal press, but, this is bad, even for the old man who writes it. What a shame for what used to be a good, balanced paper.
Bouie will stop at nothing to defeat conservatives.
Why didn’t Sam and the Rotarians do something for the black orphans in America? It’s not a great photo op or story, that’s why. I’m sure they believe the young black orphans in America could have done something, ANYTHING to better their lot in life – that’s the Republican way isn’t it?
Sam did what many of my old Peace Corps volunteer friends did many moons ago. He put in a lot of work and did something that all of the bleeding heart liberals would swoon over forever (even though he detests them as people) AND all of the Crusty Crab Patty Republicans could donate to. I don’t for a minute think it’s about anything more than showing those pictures forever.
The orphanage is great blessing for the kids. No doubt about that. What the children don’t know is that it’s only a page on the political resume for Sam Crump.
Over the years, Sam Crump has had many negative things to say about Carl SEEL both OFF and ON the record.
One has to ask, has Sam let his long-term political aspirations in Washington pass him right by? His new found private man-crush on Carl SEEL is pure and simple exploitation. Carl knows it but he’s got his own infatuations w/ power to deal with.
Tony Bouie, At this point you are doing nothing in this race except wasting the resources of Republican candidates Carl Seel and Sam Crump. Are you going to continue to blow through the resources of LD-6 Republican House candidates or are you going to wish them the best and get out of this race you never should have been in. You lied to The Arizona Republic, The Arizona Capitol Times and countless individual LD-6 voters. You brought much discredit upon the LD-6 Republican committee. It’s time you gave something back and quit wasting the resources of our real candidates. It’s time. Resign. Quit making our real candidates contend with your hopeless cause. Give us something to say “thank-you” for.
OK Bob, I’ve been on your side…until now. Do not question Sam Crump’s commitment to this very noble cause or his motives. That is way off and serves no good purpose for anyone, especially Tony Bouie.
I have met both Mr. Crump and Mr. Bouie. I have never met Mr. Seel but I have met his wife. All of this is a smoke screen to prevent voters from recognizing the inadequacies of Carl Seel. Paint the other guy as so bad that by comparison, you are the lesser of two evils.
Sam Crump has not endorsed either, by the way.
Sam Crump has publicly stated that he will be voting for Carl Seel and that he considers Tony Bouie to be an unreliable conservative vote if elected to the legislature.
Sam has not formally endorsed any candidate. He wants to run his own campaign and let other candidates run theirs. I suspect that there are two reasons: (1) He was burned by Doug Clark who he endorsed last election and does not want to put himself through that again and (2) He does not relish throwing himself (and his family) between Carl Seel and attack dogs like Bob from DV.
Ruff!
Ann – I’ve heard you & you have my apologies.
From ever wanting to serve in elective office. Wow are we that hateful that we want to go after someone who decides to throw their hat into the ring because you favor the other guy who wants to throw his hat into the ring ?
This is so nasty and demeaning and all for what ? 24 K per year job. I can’t help but think anyone who is interested in those jobs feel led to serve it can’t be for the money or the adoration. Let’s give all these newcomers a break. Does’nt anyone else get sick from all this hate !!!?
We are a doomed party if we keep discouraging people from running. How many minority Republicans do we have ? We should make people feel welcome and embrace diversity but no, we have to keep taking cheap shots.
Can we just stop this nastiness? Vote for the one you think is best and lets leave it at that!
I agree with #9. We should be open to conservatives who have shown they support the Republican Platform. Based on many of the posts I have seen here, they seem to be a minority. I agree that Carl Seel has been treated very badly. It sickens me too.
Hunter, I don’t think #9 is talking about Seel. He’s not the “newcomer” here.
Beautifully said “Let’s Just Scare Everybody”.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I printed out the two surveys he answered so I could compare them side-by-side. The ONLY difference is that he did not answer all the questions from the first.
As to Bouie’s press release, I didn’t read that he said he lied like you’re suggesting. My impression is that he thought he registered but apparently had not. I would also say that Bouie is probably saying that his opponents are painting him as ultra-liberal man when he is not.
“But,to call Sam Crump a racist, even by implication, is so beneath contempt that I am now angry. I will spent every waking moment working on Bouie’s defeat and the election of Sam Crump and Carl Seel.” I have a copy of the yellow sheet. It said “The source said it is such an unexpected move, that people are starting to quietly question whether Crump’s resistance to Bouie is racially motivated. While those in the know are aware the true roots of his opposition to Bouie is the fallout between him and Clark, Gorman and Chris Baker, as YS reported in July, the race-based rumors will likely continue to persist until Crump either distances himself from Seel and embraces Bouie or proactively explains his motivations to curious observers.” It says there are some rumors of the race card, but goes on to say that’s not the real reason here. I don’t think they were saying he was a racist, it just said there were rumors, but that’s not the real reason he doesn’t support Bouie.
Anyway, why can’t we just let the voters decide instead of spewing hate all over these blogs? Most people get turned off by dirty politics, so I can’t imagine this is helping your guy.
Where was the “stop the nastiness” speech when Seel was getting slammed? A contest is a contest. Bouie pulled no punches putting down a long time hard working District 6 activist Republicans. Bouie and his disgusting friends. In fact, worse than Bouie lied about his registration is the dispersions he cast against Crump and Seel for calling him on it. “My opponent tells you I have never been a Republican, he is wrong.” Bouie not only lied about his registration, worse he lied about Crump and Seel in defending himself! No, I do not expect anybody to play nice. Nor should they. Bouie needs to get out now that he has no chance and let our Republicans concentrate on beating the dems. Now THAT is the honorable thing to do.
People have been voting for two weeks now. Now Bouie (sort of) comes clean. He literally STOLE votes. Those votes are already turned in. That bothers me a lot more than whatever nastiness Bouie is in for now. He has earned it. Until he withdraws, he is burning up resources of our real candidates.
Bouie was just whistled for a flagrant foul and needs to be ejected from the race.
I don’t live in LD6 so I don’t have much to add here. I do have just one question for you all. What will you do if (and probably) when Bouie wins the primary ?
An apology will be in order.
As to Mr. Crump’s service to the orphanage in Africa.
Anyone with an once of interest would quickly discover that Mr. Crump’s father had met an Anglican Bishop through his church work and invited him to his home. Mr. Crump was a child and played with the Bishop’s child. This family friendship spanned decades.
Invited to Uganda, Crump inquired of the Bishop why all the bunk beds in his garage. Then he learned about the war orphans of Uganda. His heart was touched and he committed himself to helping the Bishop help the children. This was BEFORE he ran for the House. And, it was not known until he had been in the House for over a year that he did this service work.
It is a service of love – love for the orphans, for the Bishop and for the Bishop’s son who died in Uganda. Crump is simply doing what his father had taught him God want’s all of us to do.
For Bobby the Negative to challenge his service is not surprising. Just chilling that such people as Bob even exist in our district. Maybe he will ask more questions next time.
If we can forgive Pearce for his past affiliation with the dumb JT Ready, we can forgive Bouie for his past affiliation with the Dem Party.
Can we forgive Bouie for lying to a church full of LD-6 voters? Can we forgive his total lack of judgment in lying to The Republic and The Capitol Times. Can we forgive him for lying to all the voters who have already cast an early ballot? Actually, we can forgive him because that is the right thing to do. We need him to do the right thing too, and withdraw. That’s the only honorable thing left for Mr. Bouie.
Instead however, look forward to your next piece of junk mail from Bouie describing how terrible our Republican candidates, Crump and Seel are.
If we can forgive Pearce for lying about beating his wife, before his church full of members, we can forgive Bouie for lying about cheating in life, before a church full of voters.
Anyone notice that Horst and Tony Vath are no longer posting with their own names, but we now have new pseudonyms using the same language. Liars get along well with vile and vicious purveyors of filth.
Birds of a feather leave the same color dung.
Jamielle,
While I can not speak for Jeff Vath, everybody knows him as Tony Goprano, I did not post because I had put myself on a self imposed sabbatical.
But since you called me out listen up and listen well.
I will never post under a pseudonym, I will always say what I mean and do what I say under my given Christian Name. You can take that to the bank, and that is more than some people I know can take to the bank nowadays.
I resend being called a liar and associated with vile and vicious purveyors of filth.
That, from your pen speaks volumes for the state of your mind and him the candidate you support.
I was in that church in New River/Desert Hills when Tony Bouie offered the anecdote of receiving his first paycheck as a team player and as he was told by the payroll clerk how much money the Government took out of his pay, he concluded from that moment forward he’d be a Republican.
He never said he’d rush to the registrar and refile, take out another voting card or put a different badge on his lapel.
Perhaps he could have, or should have. I took his words as a figure of speech, just like I myself on a cold wintry day in 1959 on the way out of the American Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany I had said: “From that day on, I’ll be an American”. Yet it took five long years before I was permitted to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and render it official, notwithstanding my feelings in heart and soul all along during those years.
I am convinced Tony Bouie has felt and acted and behaved as a conservative Republican ever since that fateful day when he felt the pinch from the liberal confiscatory taxation policy.
What is vile and vicious here, is the BLOG itself from its headline on down, and the spin that is designed to draw attention away from Carl Seel who is claiming to be the fiscally conservative who will bring financial discipline to the job while in reality is a proven spendthrift who used his family home as if it was an ATM Machine, borrowed in excess of the collateral value of the home and agreed in advance to pay as much as 15,550% interest, thereby reaching the critical mass of ends that do not meet and finding himself fiscally challenged. His constant insistence that he has made remedial arrangements with the lenders can not be verified, and therein lies the real lie which points to the real liar.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up from your one year of rest. Go back to sleep.
Tony directly LIED to the Republic and Capitol Times on this issue. His lie was intended at the church and was direct elsewhere. Tony Bouie didn’t have to “rush” out, he had eight years to change his registration, two presidential elections, and many local times to vote.
Wonder if he would like to present his voting record? Wait, that would just be another lie, wouldn’t it.
Horst, you don’t lie and you don’t post under false names, but you back liars, at least in this case. Bouie should quit. He has made LD-6 a joke in Arizona.
It’s a good thing the average voter will never read the posts on here.
Does anyone see what is going on here? Does anyone care? Or has this site become the bathroom wall of the conservative right?
Joe is a liar! I heard him tell lie.
Slimey Sam is a bigger liar! I know that is you, don’t try to change your handwriting!
Suzy was in the back seat with Joe!
No I wasn’t…..! Joe is a liar. I was in the car, but not the back seat.
You are a bigger liar! I know because Slimey Sam told me and he got it straight from Big-mouth Bill.
For a good time call….. sonoranalliance.com
I probalby gave this thread too much credit in the above example but…..
Let me try this once again and see how many rumormongers and gawkers jump on me this time. We have some very real and serious contests in our LD’s, not to mention CD’s, and POTUS. The state Dem party has a concerted effort to take some R seats in the state legislature. Harry Mitchell and Gabby Giffords are raking in $$$ and local D’s are all aflutter over the infighting.
We have a POTUS candidate that actually voted to allow physicians to kill babies born alive from late term abortions that miraculously survived the attack on their life. He will appoint SCOTUS members FOR LIFE! I don’t care if Tony Bouie was an R for 5 minutes, what does he believe in now? I don’t care if Carl Seel can’t pay his bills; there are more than a few members of the House and Senate who have filed bankruptcy. Give me the info, I am smart enough to do my own homework and do not need some screaming meemie pointing it out to me.
Enough already! We are shooting ourselves in the foot with all this nonsense. Is there possibly anything to say that has not been said too many times already!?
Please, no more of these posts. Stop the comments and put up something that has some relevance beyond LD6 or Russell Pearce.
TO ALL………
I WANT TO ECHO WHAT ANN JUST SAID. IT’S TIME WE BEGIN TO FIGHT OUR REAL FOES.
THE DEMOCRATS.
REMEMBER THOSE GUYS? THEIR THE ONES WHO WANT TO RAISE TAXES. TAKE AWAY OUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS. TAKE AWAY “RIGHT TO WORK ” STATUS. AND MUCH , MUCH, MORE.
I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE A SIDE FOR ANY CANDIDATE BEFORE THIS PRIMARY BUT I AM TELLING YOU ALL THAT THE CRAP THAT IS BEING POSTED HERE AND SENT OUT IN MAILERS IS TOXIC TO AN ALREADY DAMAGED GOP BRAND HERE IN ARIZONA!
WE ARE SPENDING WAY TOO MUCH TIME BASHING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES . LIKE YOU I BELIEVE IN FREE SPEECH , HOWEVER, WHEN IT IS “DUMB SPEECH” IT IS RIDICULOUS FOR THE REST OF US TO GO ALONG WITH THE CURRENT RHETORIC. I BELIEVE THE BASHING AGAINST RUSSELL PEARCE IS JUST AS WRONG AS WHAT IS GOING ON IN LD 6 AGAINST TONY BOUIE. OUR OPPONENTS WILL USE THIS AGAINST US IN THE GENERAL ELECTION ( REST ASSURED OF THAT ). THEY WILL USE IT AGAINST WHO EVER WINS IN LD 6 THE SAME WAY THEY WILL USE IN OUT IN MESA BUT EVEN WORSE THEY WILL GENERALLY USE IT TO DEGRADE ALL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES.
OUR RESOURCES ARE LIMITED…….WHY ARE WE SPENDING SO MUCH ENERGY AND MORE IMPORTANTLY MONEY WITH THE SORT OF NEGATIVE ADVERTISING THAT TAKES AWAY FROM WHAT OUR MESSAGE MUST BE.
I GUESS WE JUST DON’T GET IT YET. OUR MAJORITY IN THE LEGISLATURE IS ON THE LINE. IT IS TIME TO TURN THIS BIG SHIP AROUND AND DO IT QUICKLY OR WE WILL LOSE. WITH NAPOLITANO AS GOVERNOR WE WILL BE IN DANGER OF A MAJOR MELT DOWN THAT WILL TAKE MANY YEARS TO UN DO IF THE DEMS ALSO CONTROL THE LEGISLATURE.
I BELIEVE WE ALL WANT OUR PARTY’S CANDIDATES TO WIN BUT WE ARE DOING IT IN A VERY PECULIAR WAY. THIS SORT OF RHETORIC CHASES AWAY VOTERS AND IT IS NO WONDER THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY ARE TURNING AGAINST THE GOP . WHEN THEY SEE OUR SQUABBLES IT DOES NOT GENERATE CONFIDENCE IN ARIZONA REPUBLICANS.
IN THE INTEREST OF NOT ONLY PARTY UNITY BUT IN THE GENUINE INTEREST OF OUR CONTINUATION OF GOP PRINCIPLES ISN’T IT TIME WE STOP ALL OF THIS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE ENERGY?
ONWARD TO VICTORY…….

BOUIE IS A USELESS DRAIN ON OUR CREDIBLE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR LD-6 HOUSE AND MUST WITHDRAW TODAY. OR, WE CAN ADD SELFISH TO HIS LIAR TITLE.
We have some soul searching to do as a party and I think as a blog community.
This is akin to gang members from rival gangs coming to neighborhoods spraying them with graffiti to announce what gang they belong to. Problem is most of the people living in the houses could care less about gangs until they destroy their property.
Some will quietly remove the spray paint and hope it does not return. Some will draw more attention to it by calling the media to decry the gang presence in their area (which gives Gangs more attention) and others will get out their own cans of spray paint and spray away in retaliation (which results in more graffiti)
Using that analogy, this mindset has brought on more grafitti and negative media attention resulting in disenfranchised Republicans and energized Democrats.
Bruce,
I agree with you re the rhetoric and the character assassinations in the comments, but what’s the point of having a party if the candidates who run in it don’t adhere to the platform? What we got in Congress over the previous decade were people who labeled themselves Republican, or Conservative, but who spent like Democrats. It is because of their lack of commitment to ideals and principles there is so much infighting now. Ask the Catholic Church if it was a good idea to let gay priests into the seminaries in the 60′s. They would certainly say no now. Same goes with letting Democrats into the GOP. They just dilute the meaning of our party and create confusion among the electorate and thus the reality of likely national losses that we could see in November. We must fight all ideological foes, both Democrats in their party, but especially Democrats in our party. We must stand for something, but we must be civil too.
Why are Shadegg and Gorman standing strong with our famous liar? We know why Shadegg is. He is loyal to those that vowed to take out legislators who passed employer sanctions. Shadegg didn’t endorse Rep. Sam Crump. Mr. Ash, the ugliness starts with our highest office holders. Our Presidential nominee, Kyl, Flake, Shadegg are all working against workplace enforcement. My family member is a craftsman. He lost his $25. per hr. carpenter’s job to the illegal invaders. Get our leaders to stand with the 80% of Arizonans who are against the illegal invasion and we will gladly stand with them. Shadegg did not endorse Sam Crump–that makes everything crystal clear and we don’t like it either.
Keeper- So, I take it from your post that you do not encourage people to join our party and become involved if they were a democrat before ?
Good thing Jesus did not have that same attitude about redemtion and salvation or many would be in trouble.
Bruce, you are way out of line. We need real Republicans who support the platform and who we can trust to vote Republican in the legislature. We don’t need RINOs elected just because they have an R next to their names. We saw what happened in the legislature this past session with the Governor’s budget. That happened because of RINOs working with the Democrats against platform Repubicans.
Someone who changes from Democrat to Republican 5 days before filing to run as a Republican in a Republican dominated district is something you and other Republican “leaders” should be concerned about. At least the Maricopa County EGC showed some real leadership in this respect. You and state party “leaders” could learn a lesson from them.
Also, are you going to wish away that Bouie lied about something so basic and public as his previous voter registration. (Read about it in the Arizona Republic.) Are you going to just ignore that he was “afraid of how he would be received” by Arizona Republicans? Bouie is an insult to the Repubican Party.
Where were you when Carl Seel was getting eviscerated in the blogs?
As for damaging the prospects of getting a “Republican” elected, that can only happen if we do anything to prevent Crump and Seel from winning.
Nice try LJSE. Previous Democrats are fine, just not current ones. Perhaps you’ve forgotten that many people are liberals before they grow up. Reagan was a Democrat once. He saw the light, though, and not only became a Republican, but registered as one and acted like one, the latter being the most important criterion. He also was involved in the party for years before running.
I’ve welcomed Bouie to the party with open arms on my blog, though he’s not yet paid his dues enough during his 5 days in the party to warrant running for office.
I usually agree with Bruce Ash, but not this time. Bouie was a Democrat until five days before he ran, and he’s been lying about it ever since. Why does Bruce want Carl Seel and Sam Crump to NOT talk about that? That’s a major issue. Did Bruce tell the Republicans not to make an issue of Bill Clinton’s credibility?
Worse, Bruce equates that LD6 message with Nathan Sproul’s wife-beating and Nazi attacks on Russell Pearce and his family. Wow, talk about moral relativism. I don’t know of anyone, other than Bruce and maybe Nathan Sproul who think those two are equal.
If a guy is lying, its fair to point it out. If a guy is a liberal, its fair to point it out. In fact, that’s the whole point of primaries. I know that Bruce’s job is party unity and all that, but silencing the debate altogether or saying that all negatives are the same does a disservice to the system and the process.
Are you going to just ignore that he was “afraid of how he would be received” by Arizona Republicans?
Well everyone here sure has “welcomed” him.
Bruce,
You intentions are honorable. The reality is that people are upset from all directions. These blogs serve as a pressure release valve. You can crank down on the spigot all day long. The fact remains the steam is building up inside. I certainly don’t agree with many posters on this site, but the issues brought up are valid and worthy of discussion.
Kerrie R. According to Bouie he WAS an Arizona Republican. He was afraid of how he would be received? So, then he would register dem and put any effort into politics under the dem banner? It doesn’t add up! Bouie is trying to minimize and cover-up. That’s why he called his lies a “debate” that he would “clarify.” Forget apologizing for this drain on our Republican candidates. If you are the conservative you say you are you will quit with your blind devotion to this phony and get behind our real candidates. Doesn’t it bother you he has already stolen early votes under his previous lies?
TO ALL……
AS EXPECTED THE ISSUES DISCUSSED HER ARE STILL HITTING SOME RAW NERVES.
AS YOUR GOP NATIONAL COMMITTEEMAN I HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN CIVILITY AND THE INTEGRITY OF OUR PARTY. THIS BEHAVIOR AMONGST SOME OF THE CANDIDATES AND POSTERS HERE IS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE TO OUR INTERESTS IN THE GENERAL ELECTION. AS I STATED BEFORE I AM TAKING NO SIDES IN THESE BRUSH FIRE WARFARE BATTLES. IT IS TIME WE ALL COOL OUR JETS BEFORE WE GIVE THE LEGISLATURE TO THE DEMS.
FIGHT THE DEMS. STOP OUR IN FIGHTING. I AM JUST AS AGAINST WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MR PEARCE AS I AM IN LD 6. I ALSO AM NOT TRYING TO EQUATE THE SEVERITY OF THE ATTACKS IN EITHER RACE. ALL OF THESE FOLKS ARE WRONG AND SOONER OR LATER WE MAY PAY THE CONSEQUENCES FOR THIS ACTION.
ALLOW ME TO TELL A PERSONAL A STORY. WHEN I FIRST REGISTERED TO VOTE IN 1970 I DID SO AS AN INDEPENDENT. CAN’T TELL YOU WHY I DID THAT SINCE I VOTED FOR RICHARD NIXON AND NEARLY EVERY REPUBLICAN FROM THAT DATE ON IN LOCAL TO FEDERAL ELECTIONS. AS SOON AS I GOT MY FIRST PAY CHECK AND LATER GOT INTO THE REAL ESTATE BUSINESS I FOR SURE REALIZED WHY THE GOP HAD THE BEST IDEAS ON THE ECONOMY AND ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE.
FAST FORWARD TO 2004 WHEN I DECIDED TO RUN FOR THE STATE HOUSE. ABOUT 2-3 DAYS BEFORE I FILED SOMEONE INFORMED ME I HAD NEVER CHANGED MY PARTY AFFILIATION. DUH. GRANTED I WAS NOT A DEMOCRAT , HOWEVER , THAT SAID I HAD ALWAYS THOUGHT I CHANGED MY PARTY REGISTRATION YEARS BEFORE, SUPPORTED GOP CANDIDATES AND WORKED FOR GOP CAUSES.. STUFF LIKE THIS HAPPENS.ASK RONALD REAGAN AND DICK ARMEY, PHIL GRAMM, BEN NIGHTHORSE -CAMPBELL , BILLY TAUZIN & RICHARD SHELBY WHO ALL WERE DEM CONVERTS. DOES ANYONE DOUBT THEIR GOP BONA FIDES?
WHY WHY WOULDN’T ANYONE TAKE THE WORD OF A FORMER COLLEGE ALL STAR ATHLETE, NFL STAR, SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS PERSON IN THIS CASE WHEN HE TELLS YOU HE IS A REPUBLICAN? I WILL. DO ANY OF THE POSTERS HERE HAVE ESP OR ADMINISTERED A LIE DETECTOR TEST.
I APOLOGIZE FOR TAKING UP SPACE IN THE ETHER FOR MY LIFE STORY BUT IT ISN’T IT TIME WE JUST DECIDE THESE ELECTIONS ON THE ISSUES RATHER THAN SECOND GUESSING EITHER THEIR INTENTIONS & HONESTY ( BOUIE ) OR WHETHER THEY ARE A RACIST OR GOOD HUSBAND ( PEARCE ) ? BOTH ARE HONORABLE AND COURAGEOUS FOR STANDING FOR ELECTION UNDER CONDITIONS WHICH HAVE BEEN CREATED BY SOME FOLKS WHO CALL THEMSELVES GOOD REPUBLICANS.
ONE LAST POINT HERE FOR BOTH SIDES IN EACH OF THESE CONTESTED ELECTIONS……. I ASK THAT WHEN OUR NOMINEES ARE DECIDED BY THE VOTERS ON 9/2 THAT WE WILL ALL SUPPORT OUR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN NOMINATED. ONLY A RINO WOULDN’T SUPPORT THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE.
CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG??????
BRUCE ASH
Ten athletes the star-struck Mr. Ash would “take the word of??”
10. Art Schlichter – A degenerate gambler, this former Indianapolis Colts quarterback has served a combined 10 years of prison time in 44 different institutions across the country. In addition to losing his NFL career to gambling addiction, he blew millions of dollars and currently lives with his mother in Indiana.
———————————————————————————–
9. Chris Henry – This former Cincinnati Bengal (and teammate of Pacman Jones) committed so many crimes from 2005-2007 that he is considered untouchable by most NFL teams. A shortlist of his sins includes assault, DUI, and probation violation.
———————————————————————————–
8. Marion Jones – Although she won five medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, this world champion has since been stripped of her gold after admitting to taking performance-enhancing drugs. Now serving six months for perjury.
———————————————————————————–
7. Michael Vick – This three-time pro bowler is currently serving a 23-month prison sentence for various federal felonies related to his underground dog fighting hobby. Vick will also be undergoing trial for Virginia state felony charges in June, so don’t expect to see him in a Falcons uniform anytime soon.
———————————————————————————–
6. Marcus Vick – While it looked like he had a bright pro career ahead of him, Ookie’s younger brother blew a Virginia Tech football scholarship after various criminal incidents, including reckless driving, possession of marijuana and distributing alcohol to minors.
———————————————————————————–
5. Isaiah “J.R.” Rider –Although he was the 1994 Slam Dunk Contest champion, Rider will be better remembered for his criminal record than his “East Bay Funk Dunk.” After a disappointing pro career that was littered with fines and suspensions, the former Laker chalked up a rap sheet worthy of “Grand Theft Auto” that includes kidnapping, assault, drug possession and domestic violence charges.
———————————————————————————–
4. Mike Danton – This forward from the St. Louis Blues was charged with conspiracy to murder his agent. Danton was caught because the “hit man” he believed he was hiring turned out to be a police dispatcher. He is currently serving 7 ½ years in federal prison.
———————————————————————————–
3. Mike Tyson – “The baddest man on the planet” served three years in prison for raping a beauty-pageant contestant in the early ’90s. After unsuccessfully trying to reclaim his former glory in the ring, “Iron” Mike encountered more legal troubles, including DUI and felony drug possession charges in Scottsdale, Arizona.
———————————————————————————–
2. O.J. Simpson – Stealing your own memorabilia is downright despicable. Oh, yeah, he also might have something to do with that double homicide in 1994.
———————————————————————————–
1. Rae Carruth – A former wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers, Carruth planned the drive-by shooting of a woman who was eight months pregnant with his twins. The woman and one of the children were killed, while the other child survived, but suffers from cerebral palsy. Even O.J. is disgusted.
IT ISN’T IT TIME WE JUST DECIDE THESE ELECTIONS ON THE ISSUES RATHER THAN SECOND GUESSING EITHER THEIR INTENTIONS & HONESTY ( BOUIE ) OR WHETHER THEY ARE A RACIST OR GOOD HUSBAND ( PEARCE ) ?
So, Bruce, is it now the official GOP position that character does NOT count anymore? You can be a racist, a liar, a wife-beater, but as long as you support that capital gains tax cut, you’ve got a place in today’s Republican party?
Quick! Someone bust Byron “Low-Tax” Looper out of jail!
Ash: “I HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN CIVILITY AND THE INTEGRITY OF OUR PARTY.”
What was the response when you requested Bouie’s withdrawl? You are committed to maintaining integrity right?
The point is in April he spoke with Rep. Sam Crump and admitted being a lifelong Democrat. In June at the LD6 District meeting he again admitted to being a lifelong Democrat. Then amazing in on Aug 12th he then said he was a Republican for 9 year. Then 2 DAYS later told the Arizona Republic that he was a REGISTERED Republican in Florida from 1996-1999. This is like a child that gets caught in a lie. He keeps changing it just to sound better. So when a story keeps changing you need to verify it.
The other part of the story that he told the AZ Capitol time is that he choose to register Democrat when he came to Arizona. His excuse was he wasn’t sure if the State Republicans would accept him because he’s black. Was he afraid that a paper ballot would jump out of his hands? Because in the past, voting was the only political activity Mr. Bouie participated in.
If Bouie was a Democrat challenger in the General election, all this would be fair game.
What will the Dems do to Bouie if he wins the primary? Can you see the print pieces? Don’t you think that Primary Republican voters care about party loyality?
Anyone here who is worried about the general election is out of their mind. The reason folks are beating on each other so bad up there is that the R wins in November anyway.
Frankly, Bruce Ash should have better things to do than play hall monitor for what will eventually turn out to be four people using twenty-four identities to argue with each other.
There are no undecided voters on this blog Bruce, so don’t worry about it man. We’re just a bunch of righties and lefties duking it out “e” style!
Fortunately most of the posters here don’t live or vote in LD-6. This race may already be over. Check the Early Ballots already returned. Going to be a huge turnout. Bad new for Seel and the PAChyderm wackos who support him. Can you say 6 time loser? LOL!
As I said over at your PR Regurgitation Machine Tony, I’m thrilled to see you finally supporting a Democrat.
Shane, I would strongly encourage you, for the good of conservative causes in the future, to stop this.
This has turned into carnage for the sheer sake of one upmanship and a desire for blood. The final result not even a consideration; win the battle but lose the war.
The actions of others are not within my control. I can choose to be a part of the solution or a part of the problem.
While some of you may be very glad and will no doubt bid me good riddance, I will no longer take part in this sort of madness.
My time as a commenter on this site is over.
I would hope it could return to a site where dignity might actually be considered, the health of conservative causes a priority, and something beyond personal feelings of “gotcha” with a catalyst of might makes right the motivator.
Until then, it is a site for malcontents and misfits who choose to destroy people over issues they know little about while hiding behind their keyboard, never willing to risk their own time or energy to actually serve a cause beyond their own ego.
Hey Ann, if you want to lead by example, feel free to come out from behind your keyboard, stop your attacks, and tell us your real name. Otherwise, you are the person you’re warning us against.
Ann,
You are right, there is quite a bit of craziness going on with the commenters. Quite sad actually.
Ann,
Just buy a better helmet. We need you around here, chin up. Everything will be just fine.
