CD-3 update.

It now looks like Shadegg has another challenger, Independent Annie Loyd. Not that we thought the Democrat, Bob Lord, had a chance but the net effect of an Independent entering the race will probably be to take votes away from Lord.

One interesting item on Annie’s web site is her endorsement from last years Democrat nominee, Herb Paine. So much for party discipline.

We wish Bob and Annie the best and hope the voters can keep the last names straight, Lord or Loyd. Maybe CD-3 will just go with a name they know – Shadegg.

Congrats to Blog for Arizona for scooping us on the story.

Reminder – Phoenix District 3 Debate tonight.

Be careful what you wish for.

Mac Magruder and his Wake Up Arizona! Coalition objected to the Arizona Employer Sanctions bill, claiming it is a federal issue. The lawsuit filed by the Arizona Contractors Association also maintained that the issue should be handled by the feds.

Now it looks like the executive branch is getting serious about enforcing current law. The government has known for a while that lots of social security number do not match up and are likely being misused. They are planning on enforcing the requirement for proof of eligibility for employment. This should get interesting. It might make HB 2779 look like a walk in the part.

Summers in Tucson.

Tucson makes Top 10 – as a summer destination.

I think they are on to something. June was a little warm but the rain and clouds have kept temps under control.
