Cigar night a big hit!

cigar-night.jpg

The inaugural event for the Pima County Republican Party Cigar Club was a huge success. Some arrived at 7:00 and stayed the whole time. Others were streaming in and out all night. People were bringing papers by to finish business that did not get done during the day. Most people were just socializing and enjoying a nice smoke and occasionally a fine beverage.

The next event is scheduled for Thursday, December 13th. A great time to come by and do a little Christmas shopping for the tobacco enthusiast on your list. Congratulations to Mike and Vic for putting the event together. Thanks to the fine folks at Anthony’s Cigar Emporium for providing the venue.

Update: The event was so successful that the story got covered on The Arizona Report. While there was a slight issue in gender-diversity the event was actually quite successful in uniting very different factions of the party. The moderate wing helped organize the meeting, it was well attended by Ron Paul supporters, the radical Christian far Right had at least two members present. Everyone got along quite well and enjoyed talking about their common ideals.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Sometimes.

Sometimes a Single Malt Scotch is just a Single Malt Scotch.

  4. just wondering…were any women invited? i know plenty who smoke cigars. it just looks like a good ole boys club to me. we arent reverting back to the days of “men smoke & talk politics” while the “little ladies” do other things to occupy their time, i hope!!!
    :o)
all said in jest, but i think women could really liven the group up.

  5. VSP,

I think any woman who would have attended this event would have commanded the attention of every guy in the place. Let’s see what happens at the next event.

    VSP,

Of course women were in invited. Just read the invitation. We will work on that one. But sometimes your don’t find too many men at a Silpada or Premier Designs party.

  7. well…none of the women i know would go to those “parties” as you call them. lol.
this is after all the 21st century 🙂

    VSP,

Well… the woman in my life not only goes to those “parties” she hosts them in our living room. To each her own.

Tell you what, why don’t you and all the cigar smoking women that you know attend the next event. The guys will be happy to see all of you there.

  9. sorry, Tucson’s a bit far. We have our own cigar smoking parties tho…in my backyard :o)

  10. I just might have to mosey up to NW side of things, being an avid fan of a good cigar and single malt scotch myself.

I’d be quite curious how the Ron Paul discussion went.

I’ve had more than a few cigars with Vic at the mid-town location.

Just so you know, if I do show, you can yell or say anything, but you’re not allowed to hit me, drink from my glass, or touch my cigar. Remember, I am Independent and can listen to reason.

Not sure why, but Democrats don’t seem to appreciate certain things.

x4mr I hope that you can make it. No one will drink out of your glass. The whole Ron Paul thing went very well.

VSP sorry that you cannot make it but just to clarify you and all other women are always welcome.

  12. thank you. i am glad to have the open invite. hopefully one time i can 🙂

  13. I wish more of my Democratic friends smoked cigars…

Looks like a good time, glad you all had fun.
